More than a dozen more people were arrested over the weekend for allegedly trespassing at the Oceanfront Plaza, which has gone viral for the graffiti adorning nearly every floor of the three towers.

@@Joser167 There is no need to be impatient. The developer experiencing financial problems, does not mean these units won't sell at a high price. Having said that, if the units were to sell at a low price, even you would want to buy. So it is not like the developer has added no value to the land. There is a lot of value here and the developer having financial difficulties means a win for everyone else.

@@itoohavedreams Odds are that there is something in city code that says grafitti has to be removed within a certain amount of time. I know there may be places where it is allowed to stay (I avoid going to LA like it is the plague so have done the jobs and then done the 1-4 hour, 60 mile drive home) but most cites probably have something in their code that allows them to force it to be covered or removed. It is an eye sore and can bring down property values and also is promotion of gang culture. It is similar to codes on the types of advertising that can be placed throughout a city, and of course it can vary from city to city, so there is a very slim chance it isn't covered, but I would not bet on that.

@@itoohavedreams There may be a loophole for a "wall" but that is all over a tall building and on the glass. It clearly isn't meant as an art display. Anything is possible. The question is, should the Chinese company get away with using a loophole for an abandoned building that is a wasted space owned by a foreign company? My opinion is the taggers should be prosecuted and the owners of the building should have to deal with it or be fined and the city cover it up.

I saw a video on a site that caters to taggers where several taggers interviewed expressed it is no big deal being arrested by police for that tagging. They claim they were issued a ticket and let go. All agreed that was a small price to pay compared to the nation-wide exposure and status gained within their tagger culture.

Back when laws were actually enforced, if you caught vandalism charges the DMV would put a hold on your license and you weren’t able to obtain a driver license until you cleared up those charges, served jail time and pay restitution
