I remember Barney Curley was the first one to state that Bradley was stopping horses , and no one would believe him . Barney used to source a lot of horses for the Dickinsons back in the day , and was convinced that Bradley , their jockey , was bent . If you can get your hands on Barney's autobiography - Barney Curley , Giving a little back ( 1998 ) , it is a fascinating read .
@georgemurray542
@georgemurray542 Жыл бұрын
Barney may he rest in peace had no place to talk about anyone.....There's more than one way to stop a horse.....Barney would arrange to run a horse 6 canters short of a gallop and finish out the back of the telly then a few months later he'd gamble the backside of it and it would hack up.

Everybody deserves a 2nd chance in Life. Brad has not Harmed anyone. Really hope he is allowed to get a licence to be a trainer. He has everything to be a great success at this. Supreme stylist in the saddle right up there with Lester Piggott and John Francome. Brought so much enjoyment to Racing Fans watching his skill as a horseman.

The Horse that raised Curley's concerns was called Robin Goodfellow trained by Toby Balding if i remember correctly and the race was the Kennal Gate novices hurdle at Ascot a race won by Teletrader trained by Ron Hodges , Robin was held up and never really put into it by Brad one week later they met again at Sandown and surprise surprise Robin Goodfellow trounced Teletrader! :P

@@trevorluft8161 Did you not listen or watch the video all the way through. He said he made a massive mistake but was only doing what many other jockeys were doing at the time and he thought it was the norm... I can guarantee you this.. that it is still going on today under both codes... As for the jockey club. They are a law unto them selves. They have made just as many mistakes as Bradley, and turn a blind eye when it suites, but they don't have to answer to anyone....pompous snobs everyone of them...

ATR love a good cheat. I remember well Luke and Jason taking the piss out of the public regarding Luke's horse "going for a spin out the back" in a certain race. Absolute filth. For as long as racing jornalists and pundits see themselves as participants in the sport rather than being there to objectively comment, racing will never move on. Sycophnatic, vomit-inducing tripe

Fascinating interview. I marvelled at his brilliant style and horsemanship back in the day, beautiful to watch. It has to be said he had his head turned too easily and willingly engaged with some seriously bad people. Seems like a nice guy and expresses remorse but it's hard to believe he will ever restore his reputation and secure a meaningful role in racing even after all these years.

A Brad says every jockey had punters back then and you can take that to the bank. I could tell you one jockey who stopped a horse at Cheltenham for a well known bookie then called the owner and apologised for giving the horse a bad ride and asked if he could ride it at Aintree to make it up to them. They agreed and he stopped it again. If I told you who you would be shocked.

tbh he got the book thrown at him by the powers that be because he made it public knowledge about his scams... they were all at it not just him.. just he made the mistake of admitting it.. Most at it today probably.. deffo certain trainers given free bettiing accounts for a small favour in return but kept in house

Graham Bradley deserves a second chance in racing. He was crucified for no more than what most jockeys were guilty of until the last ten years - that is having punters who they gave information and tips too. Brad was a scapegoat. And he has paid more than enough.
