They will no doubt get into inaccurate historical timelines via the younger dryas theory and pre-date ancient civilizations. I literally got chills when josh said he had a kind of awakening while on a mission trip because I had a very similar experience of being on a church trip during high school and during a devotional/study session I kept having questions that no one could answer or wanted to answer and I found myself getting angry and for the first time seeing myself outside of the realm of evangelicalism that I was raised in and asking myself, “do I even truly believe this? What is going on? Nothing is adding up and I want to be the best Christian I can be but the people who are supposed to answer these questions are coming up empty and so am I.” This was also right before cry night and for the first time in my entire life I couldn’t make myself connect with the “Holy Spirit”, I just felt very uncomfortably out of place and wanted to go home.

This was a fantastic episode, guys! I grew up in the Christian- Adventist Cult and studied my way out. I too have the same fears about what if they were right? What if all of it is real? Josh, it is a feeling that can only be understood by someone who has lived it. After I left I tried to fit into mainstream Christianity and after trying to shove myself into a box for a few years, I just sort of drifted away from everything. I was 37 years old when I had my first experience with mushrooms. Because of that experience, I was finally free to follow MY path. One that I had been drawn to when I was 18 and walked away from because of brainwashing from the womb. That trip didn't make everything all better. The religious trauma is real and deep. But, with the help of psychedelics, I can actually move forward with healing.

There is a topic that comes up, about 80% into the episode, that although I appreciate your perspective and it is also a relatable perspective to have on that sensitive topic ( not time stamping intentionally, respectfully due to its influential nature) that perhaps may not need to be on the public KZbin version due to the current rate at which people may participate i. I guess my biggest fear with dabbling either psychedelics is that I'm afraid when the trip is over, I will be super depressed and experience an unimaginable low. I just can't afford to feel that way. Can anyone enlighten me on their experiences post-trip, when everything has worn off? Even Kendall said it makes her feel sad sometimes, because she realizes she is trapped in this "prison". Thanks in advanced! ❤

I've had panic attacks and severe anxiety since my last lsd trip 5 years ago :( I have tried lsd, ecstasy, and a lot of stimulants, and after taking them, you feel very depressed for a week and up to months after the trip because you run out of stored dopamine. (Your body stores domapine in vesicules, so when your brain needs it, it releases dopamine from there). I would not recommend doing drugs in high dosages if you are afraid of feeling depressed. Mushrooms in very small dosages could be okay for you. And if you decide to take psychedelics, the best tip I can give you on how to avoid a bad trip- take them in nature with people you love and feel save with and never smoke weed while on lsd!
@Rebecca19x Жыл бұрын
@Victoria-gs1ve thank you for your insight! I am sorry you've been struggling after your last trip though. 😔 I have severe anxiety disorder also (diagnosed at age 7) so I'm wondering.. this stuff would either really help or REALLY hurt me LOL

psychedelics are different for everybody. intention, and how you process the situation definitely matters. as someone who has depression and panic attacks, it can be very beneficial for confronting these mental blocks head-on, and getting to the bottom of trauma while learning how to cope with it as well. i suggest starting out with a one gram of shrooms. get a feel for it, you might see some visuals depending on how your body processes it. it important to be with someone you trust, and just try to have a good time, maybe meditate, if the trip is good then wait a few days/weeks and then go up in dosage. it definitely something i think everyone should experience before they pass. take it at your own pace and it can be very rewarding :)

Don't love how he speaks on depression and antidepressants. It's not a "locked state of mind" it's a genuine chemical imbalance in the brain. I'm so tired of hearing people say it's just your mental state. That's so condescending and just not true. I absolutely support exploring psychedelics as an alternative to regular antidepressants. However, it's extremely dangerous to talk about antidepressants the way he did. Having an influential person calling them "horrible" can lead to people giving up on the medication without adequate and controlled dose reduction, which can cause severe side effects including suicidal thoughts. It's okay that they didn't work for him but they're the reason alot of people have a better quality of life, they save lives while a better option is not available yet

Wow what an amazing episode!! You guys actually managed to get Graham Hancock on the show 😍 Kendall have you considered growing your own cannabis plant? You could enjoy the journey of feeding your plant and watching it grow, the process takes time but by the end you may be excited to have a taste rather than anxious or you might decide it’s not for you and that is also ok 💖

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw who your guest was!!! I love his outlook on psychedelics and have said many of the things he says about these substances (medicines ❤). I have said hundreds of times to my friends and family that if our politicians and people in charge used psychedelics, the world would be a much happier place! Much love to you all!
