Graham as an audio engineer who has made many studio build outs for friends and myself over the years might I suggest owens corning 703 homemade panels for your podcast room and ceiling. Not only are they more effective for what you were trying to do with the foam they will also look much nicer in your beautiful home. You can build them in bulk for less than 40$ per 2ft by 4ft panels. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like some more info on them and how to build them for your purposes.

My solution would be to remove the flow restrictor. Now that I'm over fifty I can say I remember the days before the EPA forced shower manufacturers to limit the flow to 2.5 gallons per minute. Once that design flaw is fixed, it's just a matter of turning the water down for the middle of the shower, then going full blast to rinse. It can make the average shower much shorter--great if you're in a hurry!

Backyard canopy, or shade plants.... or both. I recommend if you haven't already, tinting windows that get direct sunlight that blocks UV rays, and some of the heat. Not silver tint however, unless you want to be even more blind outdoors.

Hello Graham just wanted to mention that over riding the water heater temp you are cutting the life of the heating elements. Thats why it has to be manually reprogramed to 140. Just a fun fact its worth mentioning.

Recommendation. Add black lighting to intermittently check for scorpions. And don't forget to spray perimeter and doorways once a month. Oh and always pay attention to when the dog and cat are investigating the floor. They may have spotted one

I and maybe many more people would like a little insight into overcoming. Overcoming obstacles, failures, inevitable outcomes etc. Examples are: Your six month wait for your refrigerator, original shower disappointment and your pool tile color inversion.
