Well, born in Sacramento, but was a SoCal kid from the age of eight. From the age of TEN though I was locked up in government kidnapping and never got to LIVE SoCal, and these days I'm trapped out in Ken-fucky-- so I actually LEARN a lot of the history of where I'm more or less from through vids and articles like these. Thanks for checkin' em out for me, keep up the nice work out there, all you guys that do this.

Watching from Perris, Calif. (I-15 near Lake elsinore). I'm also a native of this area and have been up and down the 15 many times in the past 50 years. There are many more interesting places than the ruins you are shownig. The old Stucky's on Cima Rd., Zzyx resort, the towns of Yermo and Dagget near the intersection of I-15 and I-40, Calico Ghost town, Oror Grande Amboy and Kelso are worthy of yourist videos.

Hi Chris, viewer from the SF Bay Area. I was wondering where you get your historical info on the places you visit? I love these urban abandoned type videos, but part of why I like yours is you toss in some history of the areas you visit. So I was curious if you had one or two places you go, or just google the area and spend time researching sources? Either way, good job! Keep it up
@attrell11 күн бұрын
HEy thanks for visiting. Most times I try to chat with locals like in Saskatchewan, Montana, North Dakota etc, but in So Cal there wasn't really anyone around so I got most of my info from other photographers who visited these places before me. And inspired me to go down there. I am so eager to go back! Thank you!!

The vids are nice and all., but PuhLeeze learn to pronounce the locations! Ludlow... short u. Yucca is pronounced Yukka. Niland is N'eye'land. And Searles Valley is the Valley itself. The town is called Trona. Charles Manson and Family were at the BARKER Ranch, across the Panamint range which is not exactly close. Their jump off point was up the road in Ballarat, they left a 4 X 4 behind that is still parked near the general store. To be fair a motel owner in Trona had a pic of him and Charley in the lobby. And their is no mine. The lake bed is blown, excavated, flooded with the brine cooked off. Resulting slurry is processed and shipped out on the short line. When Kerr McGee pulled out and sold the owners of former company residences were either paid off or deeded depending on equity. Plenty of convenient fires before former residents pulled out. Pioneer Point development went nowhere and is still inhabited, as are some of the older company houses. Plenty of out of state investors get and got fleeced every time Calif has a real estate bubble, as cheap land sight unseen is a reoccurring scam in the desert. The company did not push anyone out, but the new company went non-union and the skilled trades went where money was better. Should have checked out the high school's football field. It's black sand since grass won't grow next to a potash operation. Plenty of interesting history in the area. Drive north on the 395 and see Alabama Hills were Hollywood filmed plenty of Westerns while the stars took studio paid fishing trips. Again, good photography, but might want to talk to a few locals out there. They will bend your ear and then some
