Me and my Dad (Michael E. Kennedy GSU class of 1979) was at this game 21 years ago in Grambling. Still to this day the best football game I have ever seen and I was 11 years old at this game. I knew it was a classic when we left Robinson stadium. Kendrick Nord (GSU) 485 passing yards 7 touchdowns, Steve McNair (ASU) 534 passing yards 5 touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown. Black College football at its best. R.I.P. Eddie Robinson and Steve "Air" McNair.

Wow...an old-fashioned shootout! Alcorn knew how to be in the mix of some great passing games. I remember when they beat Mississippi Valley in 84, 35-28 with 60,000 people watching...that was Valley with Totten and Rice...

I think that '84 team with the now late Coach Casem(he passed yesterday) was better than the '94 team.

I remember this game. I was the walk-on third-string QB. GSU was a nice experience. Nord was a beast. I remember playing rec. basketball with him and wondering why he didn't play for the team...he seemed more than good enough. On the field he was just as capable. I was sure he was heading for a respectable if not noteworthy NFL career.

I remember this game. Grambling acted like they had won the Super Bowl! LOL. Steve was the man, though! I went to Alcorn at the same time he did, from 91-95. There was nothing like it! We never lost a game at home when our new stadium opened. The Spinx Jinx lasted for 3 years. RIP Steve!! We Alcornites miss you!!

@@drequynnrod5077 You're right, GSU and Alcorn did tie for the SWAC title in 94 (GSU lost the Bayou Classic). However, the tiebreaker went to GSU because of this head-to-head matchup and got the Heritage Bowl birth (SCSU beat GSU).
