Grammar Gurus sir I have a doubt on your explanation.. Could we use in present perfect tense that is. ... I have eaten snake 3 or 4 time in the last year. In my opinion it seems to be incorrect becos we can't use last year, yesterday, two hours.. In present perfect tense.. Please clarify my doubt

Excuse teacher Rama! I have a question for you (or anyone who will read this comment) PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION Why do you say in 13:21 "I’ve eaten snake 3 or 4 times in the last year"? I had thought that we can't use a specific time in the past in the present perfect, but there you use "last year", it's supposed to that's wrong? Because "last year" is a key word for past simple sentences... Yourself say it something like that in the minute 9:52 I know that you've used "3 o 4 times" in the sentence as well, and that's good for the present prefect, but I think the sentence must finish there. I hope anyone can answer this question, it's very important for me right now! *Sorry for my writing, I'm not a native speaker, I'm learning english yet*
@sunkannamadigonde7216 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruno, There is a difference between "last year" and "in the last year". "last year" is the past which is not connected to present moment where as "in the last year" means one year from now in the past which is connected to present moment hence present perfect tense is correct in this context.

Hi there. I love your explanations but I have a question. About who and what. So if we don't know if it's a thing or a person. What do we use? As Godzilla. We don't know who has attacked the city. Could be Godzilla or could be The Joker?

I think, we use ever in two cases: 1- questions about whole life. 2- use ever in negative sentences to correct your answer: I haven't ever taken a good grammar lesson. Of course, you don't mean this meaning You mean this: I have taken the best grammar lesson. Grammar Gurus, could you correct me?
