I always used to think they messed up with the engine at the beginning because it was a 4 cylinder in a supra.....but then i learned the gt500 cars had a 4 cylinder race engine.

Since the JGTC GT500 class regulation back then was allowed to use any engines from any cars as long as it still belongs to the same manufacturer. In this case, Toyota Supra GT500 fitted with the samw engine used in Celica GT-FOUR ST205 & Corolla WRC that has power up to 480 BHP (potentially has more than that, but detuned due to JGTC GT500 class power limit regulation).

I remember I was ten years old when I first played GT3 and what really hits me was the into music and got me all hyped up and it became my favorite music ever from GT3 from 2001 😊

They opted for the 4 cyl cos it.was lighter then added about a squillion turbos to it so apart from putting the weight were you want it that might have been a wasted effort but the results speak for themselves

It still blows my mind how Gran Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 3 are literally 2 years apart and the graphics difference is night and day

Hellllooooo NOSTALGIA!! I loved this game so much in middle school🥲 always picked a red PT Cruiser as my starter because the family van was a red Chrysler lmaoo. Then steadily grinded my way to collecting just about every vehicle and getting good enough for the fastest cars. And then it all changed when I found Burnout😂

Me too, that's why I'm doing all these. It is kinda fun to see them in a new light with new tech, better resolution, etc although not as perfect as I would like. AI performance is not there yet :)

GT3 NA intro : Viper,corvette and NSX is the star but the biggest star is Viper,they show 3 type. GTS (1999),GTS-R Team Oreca (2000),Concept (2000)

If I remember correctly in the first Game they said that the different soundtrack/intro’s was due to the Language Barrier of Japan and America/Europe. Hence they changed the hole OST for each Region. Europe mostly had Instrumentals. America English Songs, and Japan an OG OST that was mostly if not all Tracks completely made for the Game only. Me as a EU Player think that the US Intro does not slap as the EU one. Never saw or heard the JP Intro.

Like most of GT on PS2, each territory had its own music for the opening. This one is the north american version of the opening. I prefer the japanese one because it has the original music :) I didn't like EU and NA versions :)

That was Gran Turismo's 2's intro music, not A-Spec.

​@PlayscopeTimeline I think this intro music really fits the northern America market taste (not all of them). But if you ask me, my favorites intro music versions are the European PAL intro & Japanese NTSC intro.

@@PlayscopeTimeline yus i think the JA version is my fav (even though i played the PAL one), it's kinda weird hearing the intro to Moon Over the Castle in the other versions and then having it cut to a completely different song 😆
