I remember before streaming emulated GT4 really took off, everyone was suggesting not to make save states because it would corrupt your save file somewhat consistently. Now a lot of people are doing it out of convenience and seemingly speedrunning corruption and losing prize cars. I dunno if something’s changed but having played on the same save file for years while making all sorts of hardware changes and across a few Windows reinstalls (my PCSX2 folder is on a different drive) I’ve had no issues, but I don’t use save states. Technology is weird I guess.

It's simple really, the problem comes from having auto-save enabled. If you load a save state previous to your current memory card save, it corrupts the data. Just disable auto-save, but keep in mind GT4 saves your data each time you change cars.

2:12:00- I know I'm super late on this and I bet you figured it out by now, but there are just a few tracks in this game that if you go into the tune menu, the game crashes. Autumn Ring Mini, and any of the Driving Park tracks come to mind. All the other tracks you can go into the tuning menu just find. Also, I found that if you get the red NSX-R LM the game will crash if you try to enter a race with that. Not sure if that's a reported bug yet, but it's the first car that I encountered that I couldn't use.

Just found out regarding the NSX LM that you can use it as long as it does not have the Stage 4 turbo on it. Without any turbo it can enter races just fine. Strange.

I did figure a workaround months ago, you are right. Just tune your cars from the home menu, by pushing start in the main screen.

The save corruption happens if you have a savestate and get to a point in the game that saves and then reloading that savestate. As long as you don't pass a point where it saves before reloading

Hey yellowbird, on the A16 test, there were no drivers aids in the RX-7. There were no aids to fight. It was just the car.

The Audi models found in the 4WD challenge are quite heavy. The RS4 is around 1700 kg, and the RS6 is over 1800 kg. No wonder the light and nimble Skyline beats them around the track (not to mention the 2 ton heavy RS6 Avant).

Its interesting that the in race UI seems to be a little different to what i remember, is there a difference between the regional games?
