YES! WOO HOO! We've reach review number 200 here on ColourShed! When I started this channel back in 2015, I didn't think it'd be possible to have 200 games in one collection, let alone 200 videos talking about games and consoles. But here we are now with +100,000 subs on KZbin, and for that, I am very grateful! Thanks everyone for watching all these years! Now that the spin-off GT5 titles are out of the way, the next review will be a RE-REVIEW of 'Gran Turismo 5', and it's gonna be a long one! Haha - Spencer

I think they hit the ceiling with ps4 and i think no more consoles would have been necesaary after that and my thoughts also reflect in market share of the ps4 to ps5 which is like 1:1 , thats crazy since we are in the current gen and people are still using ps4 to play games , because there is no incentive to upgrade
@MrInuhanyou1236 ай бұрын
Diminishing returns. PS4 was the last gen to have huge graphical leaps. Everything already got to a suitable level of realism then
@robthemodYT6 ай бұрын
@MrInuhanyou123 There is a difference between PS4 & PS5 generation - but it requires people to have a HDR capable display. I played the PS5 version of DOOM Eternal as an example, there was this creature shooting me in the darkness and I could only see it in the light reflected when the bullets were fired. But I was also recording the footage and looked it back in the edit - I was staring directly at it, it just looked like it was in a dimly lit area. *_That_* will be the next leap forward, when more and more people get HDR displays.
@CyanRooper6 ай бұрын
I still think Driveclub is the peak of racing game visuals. Yeah, Gran Turismo 7 is technically the most realistic looking racing game but Driveclub had a better artstyle (especially in the wet weather races) if that makes sense. Like Gran Turismo 7 tries to look exactly like real-life while Driveclub is like a dramatic version of real life like something out of a Hollywood movie.

The homescreen showcase with the car in a well modeled scene along with a calender, world map and a clock(all in a translucent aesthetic) is by itself a perfect interpretation to the title "Gran Turismo" imo, sad that's not seen in any other later works in the franchise (not even 5) anymore.

One fun thing to consider is that there is only 8 years between the release of GT2 (1999) and GT5 Prologue (2007). No wonder we were so impressed by the graphics in Prologue. We will never see such a rapid improvement in graphics again. If you look back 8 years from current year we have Forza Horizon 3 released in 2016. You could more or less release that again today and the graphics would still be acceptable and better than many other games released recently.

Racing games like Forza 5 were literally the ONLY games graphically impressive for me when the ps4 and Xbox one launched. Everything else looked like it was already done on PC the previous few years or it looked like an ps3 game running at 1080p instead of 720p.

Fantastic video as usual! Fun fact: in some of the early GT5P gameplay clips, the wheel would turn more than 180°, and the hand animations are pretty much the same as GT4s whenever you drive an open top car. I dont understand why they decreased the steering wheel rotation, especially since it helps wheel users with precise driving, and casual users for a more realistic experience Also, a bunch of cars were cut for seemingly no reason, such as the Super GT 350Z (seen in the video), originating from GTHD, the RE Amemiya FD, a tuned variant of the normal FD (akin to the other Concept by GT tuned cars), and the R33 GT-R, seen in trailers and screenshots As for tracks, There was this weird inbetween of GT HD (premium, not classic) and GT5 where a bunch of tracks are playable and fully ready but werent ported to the console games yet, such as Circuit De La Sarthe and the Nurburgring. Hell, if you do the secret menu cheat in the options menu and tick the unlock all tracks, both Le Mans and Nurb appear in the track selection, but cant be played as there's no data, thus the game softlocks in an indefinite loading screen

I remember back in 2009 when i got my PS3 and came bundle with GT5 prologue for my birthday. I Immediately open it up, plug it in, and started playing GT5 prologue, and I was blow away with the graphics, car models detail everything, and I play GT5 prologue daily until the full GT5 came out. It was a massive leap from GT4 to GT5 prologue in graphics at the time. I always felt that GT5 prologue was more polish then the full game of GT5 and GT6 in presentation wise in my opinion.

But I know this game from the tryout- consoles ( like you and many others) they had in electronic stores back in the day and it was awesome. Me and other kids where lining up to play Prologue. It looked awesome and it including the then new cars like the Nissan R35 GTR and the Audi R8 was like magic. Many years later and I played it on RPCS3 and actually liked that it only included Premium modelled cars and even a little career mode. Iam into GT6 now which is the most advanced form of GT5 Prologue I think :)

Arguably the saddest thing about GT5P server shutfown is that ALL of the GT TV content is gone forever. Sure, some of it was recordings of Top Gear episodes or Formula Drift events, but there also were several pieces of originally produced content exclusive to the service, like the GT-R documentary or following Yamauchi's entry into Nurburgring 24h race in 2008. None of that stuff has local or cloud backups, it's not on any platforms likr youtube, hell not even pirated versions have that. A real shame.

in 2009 i got a PS3 from my parents, till that ive only had a PS2, but back then i was 7 and played a lot of games on the PS2, but, ironcally ive never had played any GT game, tbf i didnt even knew they existed (even tho i was already a car guy), and this PS3 that i still own till this day was bought already jailbreaked from the store and with exactly 12 games, GT5 prologue being one of them, ive put a lot of hours on it, but back then i didnt knew english, so ive never completed the carrer mode lmao, it was an infinite loop of farming the first 2 races on daytona (bc i was to dumb to learn ho to properly drive) and buying the cars i wanted like the F430 and specially the E92 M3 and the ACR viper that i have a very specific memory of racing it on the same daytona full oval first event and trying to lap the other cars before the end of the last lap. After one year i think, my cousin showed me GT3 and specially GT4 that i loved playing and started knowing how to drive in the game, but unfortunatelly on that time my PS3's hdd got corrupted and the store didnt have GT prologue anymore. And thats pretty much it, its funny and sad to know that ive never been able to finish the carrer mode but at the same time i think not being able to follow what the game wanted proved better for me bc now i have stronger memories with it inventing ways to do different things on the same daytona event again and again, much more stronger memories than efven GT4 that was the first i actually completed thhe carrer, its funny to think the same game can have so many different interactions on different people, for most, its probably just a glorified demo, but for me and i think 2 more people in the world it has a special place in my heart.

I am an OG Gran Turismo player , summers I played on it alongside my RPGs which took most my time. This was the car racing RPG! Gran Turismo 2 was amazing for the new tracks and lots of cars... both overall the feeling of 1 was too good to beat. The 3rd had problems with controls : your video made me realize you must disablke assisted driving in overall controls AND for EACH car afterwards... this changed my perspective on Gran turismo 3... disliked it. Back in the day I had stockholmed syndromed myself into playing it cuz I hated having to deal with the bad control assist i thought was imposed i was better at rally (got my subaru rally car for a gold licence result) and wanted to play it in career mode but i couldn't ... in the menu assist was off, i didn't understand and dropped the game, returned to GT1...NOW i will finally play GT3 someday, bought it anew! Never played Gt4 and 5. I stopped playing "modern game" sine 2007 or so, but I play them one they are "old school"... Playstation 3 is now open for me and soon the wii and wii U, will be on my playlist. After that too realistic the big consoles. Switch I buy cuz it offers retro games and the best of indy !!!Gran Turismo 1 & 2 on switch would be a gem! But sony would NEVER !

The 2mill credit limit. The Class S tuning (cough cough then upgrades) like GT PSP, or GT Sport, one make races, yeah the limits of the career and online features. It's a fair game for what is here. Not many but for what's here besides driving missions only of GT4 Prologue and arcade tracks. GT 5&6 I hate the physics so yes that's nothing new seeing the physics being very touchy here in your Daytona Ford Focus footage. But annoyed you didn't cover some of the depth of these then just strict cars. Sigh. They are fun to do I find even besides the limit of what is here and it beiya preview title. Even prototypes offer a lot of changes worth covering sometimes. It's why I get a LOT out of the GT 3&4 one make demos of differences on the GT Wiki. Is because there are differences for at least 10-20+ dot points sometimes. The structure and content is worth it for the time. More content even if preview and differences to the final game I just care about details of a game so this review comes off a bit odd to me compared to your other reviews. Also as if favoriting, tuning and the Gran Turismo tuned special cars mean nothing seems a bit sodd to me but whatever, however you feel about them I guess or didn't use them because did the challenges, credits and moved on.. But yes like GT3 of limited cars but more demo like as a prologue. The press kit is really cool. Gran Turismo 4 Prologue is worth covering I think the coffee breaks or some challenges are better than the final game ones. Don't skip it. But you probably will. Depends on the details you cover in GT5 & 6 again and what interviews or other details as well.
