One thing Criterion absolutely nailed with this were the engine sounds. Never played another racing game with cars sounding this heavenly. Sure took me by surprise when I decided to replay this after putting hundreds of hours into FH4.

Hot Pursuit: 2010 has aged like a fine wine. Every year that passes, the game gets better.

Almost 14 years later this game still looks and sounds great. It has the best engine sounds in the entire franchise, in my opinion. The really loud engines coupled with dramatic orchestra help to really evaluate the feeling of adrenaline in the game's chase sequences.

Funny thing is that all the Hot Pursuit NFS titles descend in number with every version. NFS3 Hot Pursuit > NFS Hot Pursuit 2 > NFS Hot Pursuit

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) is unironically one of my favorite Need For Speed games of all time.

It was worth pointing out that the original PC version of Hot Pursuit runs at 60 FPS unlike the console ones

Of all the NFS games I've played, Hot Pursuit is probably the best. The soundtrack in this game is amazing. I don’t know, for some reason this is exactly what I imagine when I play an NFS game, where I just enjoy the ride without any unnecessary problems. Yes, the game can be a bit crooked in places, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the truly "need for speed" experience. It’s especially interesting to play with other players. There’s even a sense of excitement to come first in a race in multiplayer. This is just a very cool game and for me the best in the series.

NFS III HP, NFS HP2, and NFS HPR are my favorite racing games outside of Burnout 3/Revenge. The Switch port of NFS HPR is surprisingly excellent also.

Best use of tap brake to drift steering mechanics in any racing game by far. Drifting the entire way around that one massive loop in the world is always so sick

I think you Really shouldve mentioned the sound design, because everything, from menu sounds to the noise the EMP makes, the tire screeching, it all comes together so beautifully to make one hell of an experience (yes i grew up on it tyvm)

The thing I love most is the fact you can make one of, if not THE deadliest crash (like "busting" a bugatti veryon and watching the car fly down the mountain outside the map) and the dialogue could be something like: "Ticket has been issued" or "Don't mess with the SCPD" after they got absolutely executed from life. On the racer side, the harder races are fun! In the words of UltraViolet; "This game prioritizes winning above all else." Its crazy to think that THIS golden gem released in 2010! Overall, the game is fun and gives a good risk/reward system. The riskier you drive, the faster you get to the good stuff. I'm so glad I got it on discount. The remaster does lose 2 cars. But compare that with the amount of paid content added in for free, its a big woop. Now, I hope that Most wanted 2012 gets remastered.

This game was amazing. Sound design is unrivalled, especially the sound of activating the Turbo Boost System

This was the most cinematic racing game that I ever played thanks to the incredible visuals, sound design, soundtrack and crash cameras. Every Hot Pursuit event felt like a war, every Time Trial felt like I was living out my car enthusiast fantasies, every Rapid Response made me feel like a badass cop from shows like Starsky & Hutch or Magnum PI. Seacrest County was one of the most beautiful maps ever made for a racing game. As a kid this game was the perfect escape from reality and the closest I was ever going to get to experiencing automotive heaven.

This game and TDU2 was a huge turning point in my life as a car guy. Me and my best friend played this and TDU2 in the early 2010s until he moved away in late 2012. This era with these cars, I think of as the earliest of, "modern," cars. Just about every car in this game has aged extremely well and I still have fond memories of seeing them in person back when they were new. The fact this game had nothing but supercars made my heart warm all the time while playing it. Take me back to this simpler time

I love the sense of speed in this game, trying to sustain 200+ is stressful. Also the multi-player is a riot, its cross-platform and super fun doing hot pursuit with friends!!
