Man it was super refreshing when this car arrived in the dealership for the first time. It was in the early April update which increased the Hagerty lineup from 5 to 10, and it was when the Circuit Experience was actually worth completing. This was also 9.5 million at the time so right now it's an increase, and I suspect it will continue to rise. Easily my favorite version of the F1 at least in Gran Turismo if for nothing else than for how it sounds.

It's 20 million now.... Putting it into an exclusive club I like to call the "Cars I will Never Be Able To Afford in GT7... Club". Seriously though, 20 million is just too much for any car in a video game like this. If there was a better way to earn money (other than 4 money grind events), it might be worth it, but as it stands it's too much of a slog to get to 20mil...

You described it perfectly in the where the CLK is so stable in all regimes this McLaren is twitchy. I don't see it as being as rewarding as you feel it is.

In my opinion the best racecar based on a road car with the best livery. We all remember from this era the Gulf long tails. I like you have it randomly going round mount panorama lol.

I'd totally agree with you, the Merc is much easier to go fast in, in a short space of time, very planted! The Longtail though requires time and effort, put the mile's in, and you will be rewarded! 🏁 commitment is the name of the game with this car 👍

​@lucak4726 le man's 30 min 700pp. I use the Astin Martin db9 gr3 car. Set to 6 on fuel for 4 or 5 laps. They going full blast for 2 or 3. The Carroll nsc also does it well at 6 on fuel for half

When I purchased this car when the game was relatively new, I thought it was worth it and a lot of fun to use. However as I care more for the multiplayer aspect, it was a disappointment that it is always overshadowed by the CLK and will never me used in multiplayer for that reason. The CLK is faster therefore better on fast tracks, and on handling circuits, a Super GT car is the way to go. Great review though I agree with all your points.

Funnily enough this car actually beat the 'Super GT' cars of the time in the real Japanese JGTC . So it actually beat cars like the Castrol Toms Supra on their home turf. And that's another reason why McLaren F1s go for such crazy money.

@@mr8I7 ​ That was an earlier Mclaren F1 variant that dominated the JGTC cars iirc and abandoned the series after significant regulation changes targeting the car specifically. The longtail appeared in the successor series Super GT with a revised aerodynamic silhouette involving larger splitter/canards/wings & other super GT compliant revisions and was not nearly as dominant but it still made better results than basically every other subsequent privateer GT1 chassis entered into the GT500 class of Super GT combined.

A beautiful car but as you touched on 10 million is such a lot of credits. I've got 13 million in the bank that (I spent ages collecting) currently and I'm cherry picking cars that I'm feeling at the time. A few million for things like the Escudo, the Countach etc I can deal with but 10 million makes me think twice. There could be something incredible coming in the next DLC and I want to be ready to buy it!

I love this car!! It sux that didn’t have 10mill to spend on it but ima just gonna have to grind hard just for that car and save it till it comes back. For me this will be the only Mclaren F1 variant that I’m buying.

The CLK might be easier to drive, but it doesn't have the prestige that the F1 has! I don't know how fast it's against other Gr.2 cars but for what it can do it looks very decent, especially on the Nordschleife!

Unfortunately it's not that competitively viable I'm multiplayer. It has a decent amount more straight line speed than the gt500 cars but it is simply outclassed by the clk in the speed department unfortunately. And on handling circuits it cannot compete with the downforce of modern super GT cars.

@@neblolthecarnerd Strange because my F1 is overall seconds faster than my CLK! And both have custom Tuning Setups! While the CLK feels generally easier to drive, the fact that it doesn't have a High RPM Turbo holds it back quite alot! Took both cars around Watkins Glen and the F1 was 2 Seconds faster because it has the better Acceleration and therefore can reach its Topspeed much faster!

I have the '95, but I NEED the Longtail. So beautiful. So LEGENDARY lol. I've become a bit of a collector, with 220 cars so far 🙂. Really wish they'd allow players to sell and buy cars to and from their fellow racers 🥺. They could give us that at least lol. Well that, and the Apollo Intensa Emozione 😏👑. And the '95 F1 GTR is currently running for a cool $11,000,000.

I like the Gulf livery of this McLaren, unfortunately two of the GTC cars caught fire at Le Mans 25 years ago but still the car overall is an absolute gem.

GT4 World championship award got to watch that awesome ending sequence twice (GT4's ending was so awesome), I remember trying so hard to unlock it,and the actual debut in GT4 prologue where you had to do a pretty hard mission round Fuji to get it. Is the Fina variant still in GT7?

I remember this being a bit underwhelming in GT4. Even though I got ~under 50m Cr. left from Tomahawk grind I ignored it. Mercedes does better job in almost half the price. Save up & buy CLK LM & 911 GT1 Strassenversion. Better handling & more flexible cars.

my only problem with the game is the lm is not the gtr and thus not being able to actually have a propper race between the two like back in nfs high stakes.
