Purchased this car out of pure nostalgia, took it to a Gr3 race right afterwards, no tuning and got smoked. Went back did a bit of tuning and it drove better. A little let down, but I understand this is a race car from 1999 and racing car tech have vastly improved since then. Love the nostalgia factor, but more than likely it will be a collector's item in my garage.

I liked buying the car when I saw it some weeks ago. I also liked doing some PP events. Perhaps for online racing it isn't the fastest car but that's not my goal. I am a collector and I love those legendary cars. Perhaps they could add some specific events for those legendary cars. It would be more useful but those events can be added later.

And yea…this definitely can not hang with many of the newer GR.3 which yea I think is pretty realistic, and I’m ok with it. I’m not buying this car to win so to speak…I just love the vehicle itself so I’m fine not being able to win every race with it.

Never really used this car is previous GTs because I always preferred the 2000 Calsonic GT-R, the 2003 Xanavi Nismo GT-R, and the R35 GT-Rs from Nissan's GT500 stable, Due to that I actually really like the car in GT7 because I use it so much more than I ever have in the past.

I'm not disappointed in it at all. It's an awesome race car. A bit pricey but I had to get it when I saw in the Hagerty collection so I did a couple of those 30 minute Le Mans races with that Red Bull car, one of the money making methods you told us about and that gave me enough to buy it. Btw that method still works after 1.18. But I don't regret it at all because it's one of my favorite Japanese race cars besides the Castrol Tom's Supra.

I bought this one and de-tuned it for the Le Mans race (I have 3 or 4 I use depending on my mood and how difficult I want it). Its not bad, not the quickest, and it's definitely handy in the wet in that race.

Speaking of the perception of weight, understeer, bulkiness and track width I think it's all GT7's improvements, in GT6 I can't really feel what that weight is and most of the time I was feeling the same car in GT6 is 1.5 times wide of the GT7 version, or the track is 1/3 narrower than it should be.

Maybe my driving style 🤷‍♂️ , slapped a turbo on , some mediums and cleaned the 1 hour lemans out , it's a beast on the straights at full lean mix . Fun car !

On the topic of it costing 2.5 million credits, I feel Hagerty's evaluation system for pricing cars in GT7 is inherently flawed for one reason: It's for the wrong audience (Time to copy and paste from Discord lmao) Here's the thing, In real life, the only people willing to purchase these mad expensive cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO or Mclaren F1, are old billionaires that own businesses and have different tastes in cars. What they value in these older cars aren't the same as us, and thus, cars that don't make sense for their pricing to us may make more sense for the older rich people. Because I don't know about you, but I find it very stupid that the racing versions of the Mclaren F1 are nearly 3-5 times more expensive than the older Group C cars, especially the Mazda 787B which is somehow cheaper than the less iconic and much newer Penzoil GTR. As well as both the vintage Alfa and Merc having a 7 million gap price. I get Kaz's intentions here, but I think Gran Turismo isn't in the right state for this pricing system. Unless we get an auction house like Mike has been clamoring for for years which I finally understand the appeal.

Good review.....I bought like 4 of these just to build the other cars like the zexxel, Castrol, Clarion, Loctite... lol......just for the berries still prefer the Godzilla in terms of performance

I have the Escudo Pikes Peak, which was my pennicle for GT7, which was my Money maker from GT2, GT3, GT4, GT7! Wasn’t really a fan of GT6 GT Sport was cool But it was lacking cars just as GT5 & Prologue But all greats! Can’t wait too purchase this car when I can find it on GT7!

So many dive-b0mbs lol.. I agree with you regarding it value in the current market at this level. I do find that pricing in Hagerty is one of those barriers that needs to be in the game that keeps a certain player-base engaged for longer. Historically, those of us that grew up with these icons of motorsport, had model cars or posters on the wall - fueling dreams of ever standing near one of these cars let alone sit in one. It's a pretty synthetic merger between reality and the digital world of cars. However, it's nice to see these old school icons represented in today's age of 7sec attention span, facebook connected players that so many companies seem to want to monopolize these days. My white whale has to be the classic Ferrari cars and the Toyota Supra (MkI to MK4), and the Datsun 280z

Straight up, this car is not worth the price nor is it that good, imo. To me, it just doesn't deliver like almost all the other Gr3 cars. Maybe it's my tuning, but I'm just not impressed. It's also not very good on fuel when you bump up the power to make it more competitive, so I don't even use it for any of the endurance races either. Maybe the 700PP, but definitely not 800PP events.

JGTC cars make no sense in GT7's lazy & underdeveloped career mode, because it relies on PP mode more than actual themed championships & that makes JGTC/Super GT cars either no match (Vs modern GT3), or OP (Vs stock cars/supercars)
