@@kcchiefsproductions8687 I had a force feedback wheel once (the DFGT). Using it felt like I was actually working, like a real job I had to prepare for (including fussing over all the settings). And when the feedback is too strong, it can cause fatigue. I think the dualsense looks great for those of us who just want ease of use with great features.

Played GT5 and GT6 with the DFGT. I use a G29 for Sport and GT7. A wheel is very immersive and a great experience. Always will be. But the current PS5 controller is incredible. The feedback you get from the car is much more accurate than a wheel and pedals. The haptic feedback really makes it difficult for me to go back to a wheel. The controller is that good.

An added benefit of the dualsense is the triggers gives you hints of when the brakes are locking up or tyres are going to spin out.

FWIW, the motion control is *brilliant,* you just have to recognize that it's more like a racing wheel than the controller thumbstick; it has more graduation, rather than a quicker snap to either side. I race with a wheel, but I'm still blown away by how well the motion control works once you recognize it's not a one-to-one match with the thumbstick control mechanics.

Thrustmaster T300 is considerably better than the Logitech wheels in terms of force feedback, and that is the most important factor so if you can afford it I would go for that. When it comes to durability, the Logitech is probably more rigid since it uses simpler technology (it’s gear-driven), but mine still shows signs of wear after just over a year of using it. Admittedly, the build quality is really solid and from what I’ve heard better than the Thrustmaster T300.

The Fanatec wheels contain the PS or Xbox chips in the wheel, so to make it work on either console you just have to buy a second wheel and swap them over. I've been watching streams and the PS controller is competitive versus the Fanantec wheel, however as mentioned it is less immersive (and alot cheaper). One streamer, when asked about this mentioned that one of the finalists in a Gran Turismo tournament got there using the controller.

Nice video and I totally agree. Good tip for the wheel is to turn off the steering counter steering assist as I noted it was on in your video. Fanatec recommends you to turn it off. Really enjoying my DD pro. 😃

@@Schwing27 I have the boost kit version. You can feel the bumps on the road albeit it changes from one track to track. Monza and Daytona seem to be bumpy compared to some of other tracks I’ve tried out. Also you can play around with the settings to increase the FFB via the menu on the wheel. The wheel works well with GT7 and I’ve really enjoyed the experience so far.

Once you get used to the motion sensor it actually works pretty good, you just need to find the right axis point to pivot the steering.

I raced strickly motion steering until I got a wheel. I couldn't go back to sticks as the motion steering is way more accurate imo and way easier to catch snap oversteer.

Got the fanatec setup with shifter, handbrake, and load cell brake pedal. I love it. I'm at least 1 second a lap faster on the wheel because of being able to do the smooth smaller inputs to get the car where i want it to the pixel. The Logitech feels like garbage in my opinion. I tried it and thought it was like turning a pepper grinder.

I use a controller was looking at getting a wheel but I don’t need the feedback through the wheel due to my disability so I wouldn’t need the 8nm upgrade but main thing I found is it’s very hard to drift with a controller. I definitely purchased this wheel after researching for months 😂 but I have yet to find settings to allow me to drift. So I use the Dual Sense for drift lobbies while I wait on the shifter and handbrake. The paddles are annoyingly small to deal with while attempting to drift for me. Fanatec DDpro was a very easy choice for me, as I got a PS5 and a Xbox SX and I wanna play GT7 and Forza (along other racing games), the DDpro is the only wheel, that supports both platforms.

He compares the wheel and the stick but he doesn’t know how to use a stick. Why so manu people are so binary with a stick ? In GT7, we have a nearly zero deadzone and a smooth linearity, all with high reactivity with the sensitivity setting at 7. I’m more precise with my GT DD Pro, but we can be really precise with a Dualsense.

Honestly I think it’s just a matter of experience and settings. I have always raced with a controller and have won a lot of races where majority of people were using wheels. You gotta know how to fix your controller settings.

I totally agree. A lot of people think that switching to a wheel will make them faster but often it doesn’t. It’s the same with arcade sticks for fighting games. I’m really enjoying gt7 on the duelsense. I haven’t changed any settings on the controller set up. Just left it default.

IMHO the dual sense controller is superior to a wheel in GT7. I used to play it with a Fanatec GT DD Pro and switched back to the controller. The license challenges are sometimes so frustrating with a wheel and actually so easy when you do it with a controller. GT7 is definitely designed for it.

The huge advantage to using a wheel is more consistent lap times. Using a Controller can be just as fast as a wheel, but it’s much harder to match consistent lap times you will get with a wheel.

I have the DD Pro premium bundle with 8nm, LC pedal, and the fanatec shifter... yet I find it easier to race with the PS5 controller 🤔...easier to control the car in my experience

I absolutely agree. Had more than hundred tries to get gold on a license challenge and was totally frustrated. Tried it with a controller and just finished it within three tries. Happy that I've done it but also feel like an idiot though. I never ever play GT7 with a wheel again. It's so much easier with a controller.

Force Feedback is very weak in GT7. In GTS I can feel the weight of the car, I can feel the curbs. In GT7 I feel almost nothing. I am using a Fanatec GT DD Pro, the “official” wheel of GT7

You should try more motion sense control. It's a bit too sensitive in the begining, but really great in Gt. There is no lag and it is more natural than the analog stick. I only don't like the center dead zone. Other than that my 2nd best option after the wheel. Too bad the wheel ff in Gt7 quite sucks. It's even worse than Gt sport imho.

I only do sim racing, I couldn't use a controller, No way, It's got be a steering wheel for me, I use a logitech an can get fast times, The most important thing for me is having a solid rig, With force feedback, ACC got the best force feedback for me, As far as GT sport or GT7, I can't do it no more, It's got be as much as simulation as real life as possible, I really wanna try iracing purely for the competition on iracing looks more professional, Needs a PC for that tho, Lol... But yeah there's no way I could sim race with a controller, It wouldn't feel like sim racing to me, Do you need a DD wheel to be faster?? I understand the brake is an upgrade that will make you faster, But not sure about the DD wheel I could not tell you coz I ain't tried a DD wheel, Be nice to find out but money tight, If I had the money I would defo buy better equipment a new rig, Sim Racing helps the CPTSD I suffer with, My rigs about to break tho so I'm not on it as much now, Fingers crossed next week I will have the spare funds for new rig, If my electric bill don't take it all that is, But yeah moral of the story I wouldn't use a controller myself, lol....

No knocking the controller because it’s the best Controller ever. The triggers are amazing. But the wheel is the best option for gran turismo. You can get quick on controller but the wheel is better. There really is no argument.

@@rchatte100 T300 isn't worth the 350€ they are asking for them.. it's and old wheel, that overheats quick and turns the FFB off in the middle of races.. Like the TGT-2 isn't worth the 700€ they are asking as well.. but that's my opinion, i wouldn't buy and old wheel with over heating problems right now, that isn't future proof

in order to become a better driver in this game you NEED a steering wheel(imo)....what you DONT need to do is spend a grand(fanatec) on a 70$ vid game....thrustmaster T-248 is MORE than enough wheel for this game at less than half the price....then you're gonna want a driving rig....anywhere from 100-1000 bux.....i made my own for 23$....looks like crap....does the job....it all comes down to....how much do you want to invest in a video game?

Ive been using gyro on PS5 vs the wheel. The wheel is still superior. Gyro is fine though, but especially hairpin turns the wheel is easier.

One expensive wheel for just one game... Not worth, only if you are a sim racing gamer and you will take advantage of the steering wheel with other games too. Besides that from a joystick to an expensive steering wheel is a lot, first buy the g923 and surely you will not need more than that

my dd pro has been junk so far , customer support are lucky to get back to you once every 7 days via email , dont buy a wheel the controllers on ps4 & 5 are better , also about a tenth of the cost , im still about 4.5 seconds faster with ps4 controller on gt7 , i cant recommend fanatec to anyone , they seem like they dont have nearly enough staff on , it has a effect on there business and a effect on the product and customer service , steer clear !

I'll second ur comments re Fanatec 'support'. Utterly hopeless. Ur right, they take their sweet time responding. It took 2 weeks before they sent me replacement pedals. The originals were faulty. And only after I reminded them. They had forgotten I think. But they would say they were processing the replacement order. Either way, just abominable.
