The single best way I've found to dial out lift-off oversteer on mid/rear-engined cars is increasing rear stiffness across the board as much as you can tolerate and reducing the expansion rate on the front shocks. The second you unload the front tires letting off the brakes, all that weight shifts rearwards and if that happens too quickly it's gonna overwhelm the outside rear and chuck you sideways. Your anti-roll bar settings are what got me started fiddling with that whole concept, combined with the more modern Porsches' default setups when untuned.

The V8-swapped MR2 reminds me of the SARD MC8, a twin turbo V8 MR2! Only one example exists, and it's owned by a Japanese collector! There was also a racecar, called the MC8-R, but it wasn't all that successful.

I feel the MR-2, gets a lot of bad press. I think it's a nice car, just needs the right driver. But your right on one thing. Second-hand MR-2s are absolutely thrashed about.

Iirc the early SW20 were the worst offenders when ot came to snap oversteer, certainly more than the AW11 and the ZZW30 was by all accounts a pretty well sorted car. Toyota also made like four or five revisions to the chassis and suspension geometry over the W20s production run to make them easier to handle.

One suggestion, if I may. Could you just add a very short mention of tune without engine swap, please? Fully upgraded otherwise, but no engine swap - for sure a gearing and LSD, possibly something else. It would expand the scope of the video, and my group friends and I really would appreciate it 🙏

Generally any tune that works on the engine swap will work on the same car with a standard engine. The only thing you'll need to adjust is the transmission.

​​@@fossilfueled27I guess so, except that C4 tune of yours - without engine swap I can only describe it as absolutely safe (unlike your other tunes) it doesn't challenge at all and I'm sure there is entire second left on Spa lap - if only I knew what to do to make it more risky and aggressive 🙏🍻

Great video! On your series for tuning for beginners, I’m assuming you’re going to cover ballast, power restrictor, and the adjustable ECU. I played around with ways to lower my pp, and saw as big as a 10 second difference on the Nuremberg ring depending on if I only added ballast, only reduced power, or a mix of the two.

@@amoogus6362 The Audi has 4WD so easier to drive, the MR2 is faster due to being 120kg lighter and having more downforce. It's a trade-off, both are fairly decent.

thanks for the advice, i'm having a great time in the Audi TT! it's a very particular car, somehow feeling understeery and oversteery at the same time, but with the right tuning it becomes very fast. oh and also, this car abuses the pp ratings a lot

@@amoogus6362 A lot of the quirks of 4WD cars can be helped massively with LSD tuning, if you try my differential tuning for beginners video, there's a section on 4WD cars that might help you.

Not sure if it fully classifies as a monster but the fully upgraded sierra is a handful without the right tweaking. I'd like to see fossil fueled's approach to it
