4x the res, gi probes, specular bloom highlights, audio, physics; this equates to about 5_6 x the compute required, they should of allowed a 1440p raytracing mode. the funny thing is i bet this game is actually hitting 100 fps most the time it never dips apart from when they do full on night rain smoke alpha transparency with max cars and dynamic shadow casts of cars from headlights at the start of a race; that's super taxing game try to shy away from full buffer alpha because it requires crazy math. but i understand what you mean mate. they really only care about realism and image quality + framerate. nice to see the audio being amazing. yeah driveclub was amazing man its such a shame. light bouncing through smoke and casting shadows at the same time at full res was the only thing that blew me away.

This dynamic lighting is something amazing. Many people complain of not being able to see the difference but the difference there is and noticeable. Though not as we used to from previous generations. The graphics move forward. However, over the last decade, graphics have not moved as well as they once were, but they are gradually improving as the image approaches photorealism. And photorealism can no longer be improved. What used to look like a circle looked like a rough square. Pixels were gradually added and the circle improved over the generations, making it almost a perfect circle. that's why driveclub looks so good today. Gran turismo 7 has made changes but these are not revolutionary but evolutionary changes which are wonderful. Lighting is something breathtaking. I finally see a beautiful palette of colors. No faded colors but beautiful contrasting colors. A beautiful example of an evolutionary leap is when riding a Nissan GTR. Gt sport looks gorgeous. But the action works mechanically. like other racing games that have beautiful graphics. But when we see gran turismo 7 and its lighting and minor improvements to the texture of background and model of the car. the combination is breathtaking. Especially at gradual sunset. It is no longer a game like any other, but it really looks very premium and exceptional. Beautiful

Between the lighting and the sound design im in love with this game the people complaining saying anything about the sound in gt7 are absolutely nuts ive ridden in a handful of incredible vehicles and to hear how accurate the engine and exhaust sounds are gives me chills and the 3d audio makes it that much better

I had mine set to performance mode regardless. But there is an option for RT mode, but can decrease the FPS so i decided to leave it off.

Received gt 7 ps5 from gamefly today and after an hour I'm not really impressed. The biggest difference is the game is actually playable with the dualsense. I could only play gt sport with a wheel but sold it a while back. Gt 7 just looks like a slight upgrade to sport.

How were you able to set 4k in PS5 for GT Sport ? As of now the display setting is greyed out as Performance mode for me. This is not fair, they shouldn't force us to play in performance mode in GT Sport so that GT 7 will look better next to it.

The diferences are not huge but they are cleary there. Way less pop ups, better AA and all that with 4k60. It could be better but it's fine. The Cars however look way more detailed and "polished". All in all it looks great.

After playing both games on the PS5, the difference is way more significant than what you can tell by watching videos on the internet. I felt the same, and only after seeing the game play on a 4K HDR screen the difference was visible.

Good video. You have confirmed what I have always said after GT7 released.. There is no tangible step-up or advancement from GTsport. GTsport still looks and plays awesomely. Side by side, there really isn’t much incentive to get GT7. In fact, I do think that GTsport does some things better than GT7. It appears that they have hit a technical brick wall with Gran Turismo - in that they don’t seem able to evolve the game much more since 5+ yrs ago. I’ll stick with GTsport 👍🏼

They're the same picture. Obviously there are differences but it's not much of a jump. I have both Sport, and 7, and although I've only had a couple of races with a basic Honda hybrid and that first Music Rally thing, I was immediately aware at how small a graphical upgrade 7 was. This is on a PS5. I'm going to play and enjoy it immensely but I can still feel a twinge of sadness at how little it takes advantage of the PS5 massive power hike.

@@wizzenberry The graphics are actually really good but it depends on the lighting, and thats actually realistic, coming from a person who does photography, doesnt matter how sharp ur camera is if the ambient light is harsh ur subject will not look as great. But thats how deal GT7 is its not gonna always look good just as IRL

Gran Turismo sport had only 168 cars at launch, gt7 has over whopping 420 cars, although gt6 has over 1200 cars (most of them doesnt have a proper interior) Also Gran Turismo Sport only has 338 cars even after the latest update

@@mistakenmeme it's not a remaster. A remaster is simply a graphics improvement and that's it with everything else being exactly what the previous game was. Remastered games don't come with brand new game mode content and there's features in 7 that don't exist in other older GT games. Not just all that but, even the physics are different in GT7. If you think the game is too similar to sport for you, then just play sport. You're not missing anything 🤣

Pause the video at 3:43, and I would like someone to tell me what the hell is “next gen” about this game. It could have came out only on PS4 and nobody would question it. Its gt sport with a few tweaks, and in some areas actually looks worse, with less realistic colours and shadows that are just too dark. Couldn’t be more disappointed. But then again that’s how I’ve felt about every gran turismo after GT4. For people to make out this game is groundbreaking is absolute blind GT fan boy bias.

most of the improvements came into the simulation, such as car physics, driving refinement, the weather and whatnot. the driving, the simulating, and all those kinds of things are MARGINALLY improved. gt sport looks fucking amazing, and theres barely much they can do to improve the look at least while its crossgen
