This brings back so many childhood memories. My Dad had 4 mk2 Granada’s 2x 2.3 GLs, a B plate 2.8 Ghia that was stolen & never seen again before it was a year old but that ultimately lead to my favourite one, a C plate 2.8 Ghia X 😘. It was finished in 2 tone Nimbus Grey & Strato silver with red coach line & TRX wheels, it was a stunning looking car! It was intended that it would stay in the family & I would hopefully have it one day but tragically it was written off in the mid 90s 😢 Maybe I’ll buy one some day 🙏🏻 keep up the good work sir 😉

Factory manual - that has to be a rare beast as the vast majority were auto, especially with the high spec yours has (Ghia X?). Lovely old things, not the quickest or most refined by modern standards but great none the less.

I had the 2.3GL 1982 manual back in the 80`s it was fantasic for pushing the miles on the motorways. it had very long legs from what i remember, very calm at speed and would pick up well from 50mph to 70mph. No car i have had since then has been such a pleasure on motorways, in fact cars just get worse year by year for driving engagement on motorways. Great video BTW.

My Aunt bought a brand new Granada 2.0L in 1978 in solid red. I loved going out in that car, you really felt you were important! I also worked with a chap in 1987 who had an "A" reg 2.3GLS in gold, we used to nip to the pub every lunchtime in it. Great cars! Great memories.

I’d love one of these one day. I’ve always had a big soft spot the mk2 Granada, especially in Ghia X spec. I had a mk3 Granada Scorpio about 20 years ago which was awesome except it was the 2.0 rather than the V6. I’ve got a mk2 Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X with manual box at the moment, great car too.

The first car I bought at 18 years of age in 1984 was a March ‘79 Granada 2.8 Ghia Auto in Diamond white. I then got a December ‘81 2.8 Injection Auto in Cardinal red. I loved both and, at the time thought the 2.8 Injection was so good looking and well proportioned. I still think that but, if anything, now prefer the cleaner lines of the original small-bumpered ‘77-‘81 models.

Love it. 30 years ago i test drove a 2.8 injection S, red with black trim and manual box, loved it and went to buy it but there was a problem with the finance. After some phone calls to sort it out i went back to buy it and it had been sold. Was so gutted, probably wasnt thinking straight either as i ended up driving out with a mark2 cavalier CD instead of looking for another Granada. Still havent driven another one since. There was no such thing as an Injection S. Phase 1 of the Mk2 Granada had a 2.8iS model based on the L trim but with TRX alloys and tyres plus spotlights etc. From 1981 when the Phase 2 facelift was introduced, the sport model was called the 2.8 Injection and was based on GL trim but, again with TRX wheels and tyres, spotlight and Recaro seats. I know, because I had one (VRK 282X) and no where on it did it say “S”!

Man...I love these Granadas. My Dad had a few while I was growing up. A gold S reg 2.3 GL, a blue A reg Ghia estate, a silver B reg Ghia saloon and a B reg grey Ghia X Executive. Beautiful cars. Many fond memories of our ones, including the time we piled into the blue estate and drove to the top of a multi storey car park to watch a big thunderstorm one night. Thank you for keeping your one is such good condition. Hope you keep the old girl going many more miles. 👍

Loved the Granadas my first one was a Consul GT 3.0 manual like the original car in the sweeny. Ford Granada 2.8 ghia manuals were very rare cars I could never find one when I wanted one back in the 80s , seem to remember they were special order at no extra cost options back then .Rare for a company boss wanting a manual box in a Granada Ghia?

my dad used to have a granada mk2 saloon in jcb yellow and he used it to tow bangers for banger racing and used it for daily driving and it was his most favourite car and me and my dad say that its the best ford made and they are also my dream car

Us over 50’s have very fond memories of these, my ‘friends’ grandad had a blue GL estate, and ‘ he ‘ borrowed it afew times, to take ‘ his ‘ girlfriend ‘ to the cinema’, unfortunately said friend could not explain the foot marks on the head lining, so could not borrow it again.

Love it! But a 2.8 manual is herecy! Problem with the Grenada was, that Ford thought a luxury car was a pumped up Taunus with lots of goodies, fake wood, and a large engine. Then they had a Mercedes Benz or something. Nope...

Used to work on them loved them used to rebuild them c3 autos engines axles adjust tappets replace oil pump drive shaft the edges would round giving low oil pressure easy to fix the cam shaft fibure gear would breake up easy to fix still love them not like new cars full of faults all plastic rubbish which is bad for environment so i kep being told
