Nice and sweet theme tune. Gerald Sinstadt (1930-2021) presented this programme and commentated on ITV North West England Sector football matches.

Reminds me of the 70s/80s American sitcom called "Taxi" with Judd Hirsch and Danny DeVito.

Thanks for this. It brings back memories of November '73. . I thought the tune was cozy to say this programme was on late on Friday. I was 13 at the time.

It sounds like music played in the background in a department store from the 1970

Outside the London ITV Granada has the most number of football league and premier league teams or would it be the Central region could someone double check this please

Bearing in mind some teams straddle borders (eg. Luton, Mansfield, Cheltenham) I make it a three-way tie. London, Granada and Central all on 17, Yorkshire 14, Meridian 8, Anglia 7, HTV 5, Tyne-Tees and Westcountry 3, while Border sneaks in thanks to Carlisle United. We may have to use the Conference as a decider.

@@jasejj At the time the list was compiled, Hartlepool were in their brief exile from the League, so it was just Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Obviously it would be four now, and at the time this was broadcast Darlington would have been a fifth.
