【Granblue Fantasy】Grids/Weapons progression as a new player

I started playing dec 2020 and If someones wants a recommendation on what to do as a new player this Is what I did and now I have an insane grid for every element with this simple trick: leech the fuck out of everything and everyone that moves, host raids and let the other playera finish them, play all weekly events, finish weekly and special missions and that's all. Do this 4+ hours a day you just have to dump your gf/wife and social life and you're ready to go.

Started in October 2020 and the rush to HL is probably the best tip for new players when it comes to farming weapons. There's a few things I wish I'd done more optimally in that first year as I didn't really make much progress for the first 6 months where I was playing casually everyday. In particularly, hitting some of the story milestones is pretty key for things like Arcarum and hosting certain raids (I'm still only at chapter 112 because I rushed to 110 to unlock dragon raids for Wind GW a few more for Faa). Things like unlocking the Hard+ and Extreme+ makes farming M1 raids possible for people just starting, it used to take ages to run through each raid 3 times, so I'd rarely actually farm, which left me limited on fodder and such. I also forgot to keep tabs on my access to upgrade materials, so it's only been in the past few months that I feel like I've started making meaningful progress on my grids again. I sat with too many weapons I was unable to upgrade for so long that I ended up overlooking easy boosts to my power. Could have done myself a favor by making a memo about hosting Metatron to upgrade my Chev Swords to 5 Star. Even if you are playing more casually, keep a few goals like that so you can prioritize tackling some meaningful content.

This shows that GBF is not a newbie friendly game. I fucking remember 2 years ago when I started what I just did is pretty much LEECH everything, and do note that this isn't your game that requires little time to play. If you honestly believe that you'd have a fully geared team within a week I'd look at different game instead because this fucking game requires a HUGE amount of time and grinding. Oh what was that you got a grand character thats OP? welp too bad since you don't have a fucking grid enjoy your grind!

I gotta thank you for the help on using sites to farm twitter raids for them magna 2 weps, got at least 2 for each element (except light, imma go full sword nut on light), which is nice, but im still nowhere as strong enough to solo these raids(except wind, Khumbira goes BRRRRR) Unfortunately, i kinda of burned myself out off the grind, so, nearing 1 year into the game, i guess i will just chill out for now and check out new story events when they appear Thanks again man, cheers

Yeah, for the longest time I didn't use a raid finder. It's a game changer when you've got easy access to the exact raid you want rather than just what your friends or crew are running. I can empathize with the feelings of burn out, I'm going to be mildly relieved when this Zero Treasure Cost event is over so i don't feel as much pressure to host everything, everyday and can play a bit more casually.

Well, i'm literally done with Xeno events rn, since i already have 2-3 EX weapons now, mostly Advocatus and 1 Blade at least. Grid still sucks with 5-6 Claws atm, should i change 1-2 claws to axes for OTK? Belial scythe (Seraphic) almost SSR, at least i have 1-2 of Baha Coda weps rn.

Do you have S.Zoi? The claws have small enmity and medium atk on them vs big atk for the axe, so if your grid is full of claws, you need a way to make your hp low and enable enmity to get the best damage out. If you don't have a way to enable enmity and will be staying at full health, the big atk from the axe is better.

I have it, but i'll try to do some Enmity test on Artemis. Usually team started to get dying after 2nd turn, Zoey's Drain not enough to keep team alive sometimes (had to pot). Because the state currently i have the same set of axes/spear, but they're not even in max 5☆ (3☆ mostly) just like what the recommendation said, except i didnt capped the Side Stories EX weapon yet and the Ancient Cortana.

Yo sora, can you make a video explaining for scrubs like me how good is beelzebub as a main summon, I see a bunch of high level players using some setups but I don't understand how is it better/optimal than a magna summon boosting your magna grid for example

Don't know much about Bubs as a main summon but with the mix of high stats, a very solid sub aura and a powerful call on summon he's definitely worth using as a summon without being your main as your magna summon will be much more beneficial with its main aura in a magna grid

There's still plenty element like fire dark or light swords that can benefit form magnaXelement main/support combo + with bubs mc from start have da/ta up, 50%atk up and 20% damage cap, if mc is your main damge source that should be the reason they use bubs as main.

I'm long past that hump, but magna 2 weapons, especially the rare ones, are pretty rough to farm for a new player who doesn't yet know what level of autism is required for this game. I'd like to see them maybe add an uncap item just for magna weapons. Toss them in with event rewards or in the guild wars treasure pool. Or just sell them for moons. 30 or 40 silver moons or something. That way you can bar M2 weapons without wasting damabars you will need later for your primal grids. Delete those R bars while they're at it since they're literally pointless.

You just gotta see which element is your strongest and then build your best burst set up(Relic buster ougi team with qilin or huanglong support should do well for a 2 turn burst). Sit in raidfinder for a few days and just go for quantity over quality. Once you are done with that element you will have a decent grid to farm the next element. M2 really is just the autism grind zone that is best dealt with by watching a show or listening to an audiobook and just zoning out. Though the magna 2 grind doesnt really stop you from already getting other stuff done. 6 dragon raids dont require a grid as you only care about the host chest. Lucillius 30man raid should just be leeched for its drops.

Farm the element that is on the extra drops rotation for the week with all the extra drops buffs from crew and shop. Just leech the pub M2 raids and try to do as much dmg as you can and you should get all the drops in a couple hours from blue chests. You can also just join 3 at a time and just attack once on each. The blue chest chance will be lower, but you'll make that up by leeching multiple raids at once. The anima on the other hand to uncap the weapons is a giant pain. Just host them and open to twitter.

Can someone explain why plain dmg is good for arcarum? Like why is sarasa so important for it?

bcs she can deals plain dmg high enough to onehit most enemies, making you progress much faster also very good for slimeblasting

I think it boils down to how many good magna weapons you have in grid. If it doesnt have enough power, you can opt for baha. Also, if you're running crit, you basically need double magna or primal summon unless you have enough crit weapons in grid to have 100% crit or close to it without second summon

Aa a beginner sort of player. I decided to use my gold and damascus to hasten my grid progress because of pendants cap they put. I hope they remove those caps for low rank player so they can quickly catch up to others.

You used gold bar? Those things are limited. You basically shot yourself on the foot for wasting them to uncap weapons

@@charlesplero212 Well for me it's basically quitting or used those items to have a proper foothold. I'm just a casual but despite the hard grinding of this game I actually like it. I just needed a foundation to work out. I also knew the value of gold bars I just took my chances and I don't regret it. I started with Dark team and that team can full auto T1 HL thanks to it I manage to grind a decent Light and Water.

It is sad to see how magna got forgotten and rend irrelevant these days, now you're better off rushing to 120 and start M2 right off the bat. I remember when I started back in 2018, farming the goddamned snek daggers, colo sticks, yggy swords, the freaking chev swords that never dropped, the claws that seemed useless to me at the time and those stupid tia rifles, those were the days man... You HAD to work in order to get your shit done, then farming the pesky animas when the drop rate was low as fck and getting 2 or even an omega anima made you feel lucky. Like I said, this is coming from someone who started in 2018, I cant even start to imagine how hard you guys had it when the game launched.

I'm not sure which raids have been introduced since 2018, nor what QoL changes have been made to the raids themselves, but not wasting too much time on M1 was my early goal when I started in 2020. Paradoxically, I run these raids everyday but filling out a grid with a few Lvl100 Sk10 copies was the goal, they just also happen to be a great source of fodder. The ones that feel truly forgotten are the T1 and T2 summon raids; host costs feel prohibitive to newer players and drop rates are too low for them to even be a good source of fodder as compensation. I'm not even certain what the HL versions bring to the table other than an extra (presumably better) chance for the same items, but I guess the mats are used for Grand Order so that's something.

People NEED to leech to get a decent start. which is why GBf is not beginner friendly and very bad in game design.
