A well found ship will always stand more than her crew are prepared to put her through! 🙂

The tube is a link to the fly bridge helm. It contains a sort of rod that links each steering wheel. I read of a chap who removed his fly bridge and the biggest benefit was that he was able to dispense with the tube.

I'm looking at a 67' Grandbanks 36-70, any tips on were to look for stress damage from time you may have noticed or heard of?

Hi The GB's are amazing vessels and I am sure you will have many hours of enjoyment. There are a number of GB owner forums which will be able to give some indicators. When I was looking the main issues were the condition of the fuel tanks and windows.

are grand banks reliable? i'm looking at a 46 classic for myself.
@gppictures54643 жыл бұрын
Hi John, Grand Banks are very well built vessels, however the reliability will be determined by the maintenance history of the vessel. There are a number of GB owner groups/forum's who are more than willing to highlight any particular issues with specific models/year of construction. In my instance the year of construction/model, the issues to look out for was the condition of the windows and fuel tanks. I hope that helps, good luck with finding a vessel

Is that a bar in front of you while at the helm? isn't that distracting?
@gppictures54648 жыл бұрын
Hi If you are referring to the Stainless Vertical tube, it contains cabling and the steering cables from the fly-bridge. No it is not a distraction after a while you don't notice it at all.

+Gary Le Feuvre yes...that's it. Is that custom, or like that from the factory? Suppose it makes something nice to grab when moving around in rough seas too? Thanks for the quick response. Rough seas are so inviting to me...just seems peaceful to be one with nature like that. Loved the video, thanks!

Hi, it is a factory fitment and yes it does provide a good hand hold, also a good location to clamp a camera. I love being on the water, thee is a great feeling of freedom.

Really enjoyed riding along, thought I heard the ship bell give a ring. Grand Banks handling it well, no high drama. Thanks again for the ride!
