We road the rails to visit the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon Railroad offered a relaxing and entertaining journy through the Northern Arizona countryside. The 64-mile railroad, built by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, was completed in 1901. This line ran continiously until 1968 when declining ridership caused the termination of passenger service. Private investors purchased the line in 1988, restored the facilities, and started running passenger trains again in 1989.
