I took the family to both last year, the West rim is fantastic, long drive from So Cal. The Skywalk was great too, different, much shorter drive. Do the Guano drive with the shuttle. Both were very scenic.

I just visited GC National Park, last week, for the first time. I didn't spend much time there. It was way too peopley for me. It was pretty amazing though. I drove from Laughlin, then stayed the night in Flagstaff.

I think it's important to mention the helicopter tours at GCWest. While they're not cheap, they do offer the chance to experience unmatched views, including time on the canyon floor and a pontoon ride on the river, all within the limits of a day trip.

I enjoyed north and south rims during shoulder season. Was not a fan of west, felt like they were looking for ways to gouge us. We had tickets for the skywalk last June, but after standing in line for an hour that never moved, we left. Very disappointing.

Make reservations for dinner, or you'll be eating hotdogs for dinner.😂 El Tovar and all the restaurants were busy. Ate very late to avoid the hotdog.

There’s no competition in my opinion - Visit Grand Canyon (proper) South Rim. Do it properly, walk the rim, hike part way down if you can. Unbelievable experience.
