(im really interested!) quake is still one of the ogs (even tho i think ut was and is the real one). quake is not better nor worse than any other game, its just different. different enough to not sustain the modern market. greetings
@gerkirschbaum2 күн бұрын
@@bewaterdmtI agree, I think it‘s not about skill ceiling, as any competitive video game has a ceiling high enough to allow impressive and fun pro play. The trend seems to be more along the lines of team games being preferred over 1v1 focused games in the mainstream of eSports and multiplayer gaming in general right now. The reasons are different for each individual but I can imagine these games bridging the gap better between casual, semi-casual, and pro(-ish). In team-based games your skill matters, sometimes more sometimes less (depending on teammates and opponents), but never to a 100%. I can see that making losing less frustrating for some people. At the same time it‘s very nice for spectators because more "random" stuff happens during a match because more individuals make decisions that influence the situation. In a 1v1 game, the better player usually wins the match. In a team game the team with the best player might still get upset if their teammates throw or the opponents are better on average.

This is the same crap as in QCP Finals 2021 where Raisy played against Veng. Last map and picks problem. Back then, Raisy was playing BJ on molten against slash (lol) because the picks system didn't let him pick anything more interesting. Now keel on ruins (another lol pick). The pick system should work differently in the BO7 finals. Moreover, Raisy eliminated Rapha twice QCP Finals 2021 and 2022. I think the champion picks/bans system kinda fails in the grand final best of 7 matches. Too many times we see D-List champions being the only option left on the final decider map for one or both players. In this case the heavy champions were basically D-List the entire tournament - no one picked them. Now for the grand final we see Keel vs Sorlag on Ruins?! A match up probably never seen in the entire QPL season. Unfortunately it massively favoured k1llsen with the Sorlag pick as he's far more favourable on Ruins with the speed advantage. We saw the same thing in Season 2 Stage 1 finals (rapha vs raisy) where the final map deep embrace had Keel vs Deathknight (before DK got revamped in the patch and Keel used to spawn with 100 armour). At the time DK was one of the worst champions in the game and Keel was regarded as A-List on DE. Perhaps a reset of champion picks after 5 maps played would create a fairer game.

First map win was crucial, and Raisy secured it, and we know K1llsen doesn't mess around. Really well played! Raisy picks Keel over Sorlag for Ruins? Never is Keel better than Sorlag here, and the only 2 champions left, he must have been tired. Only if you are base and are happy to camp in the sewers for 10 minutes is Keel the pick on Ruins. And if you don't get Heavy spawn that strategy is lost in 5 seconds, so it's a 50/50 map diceroll/card playing game shit strategy. He must have been very tired. (There was a second pick 'mistake' earlier by Raisy - but then he had more choices. This is the problem with champion pick psychology and champions in general. When everyone can play every champion to almost perfection, champions become obsolete and we return (once more) to skill measurement and pure situations, if the game works well, like Q3/QL/Egg game.) Edit: So if we think we have a great game that measures skill, we should get rid of the 1977 board game, card game non-mechanics and look to some future game to provide it. But any game we make we should check that it works well for actual mechanics.

Ofcourse the +back tactic is for result but isn't for GrandFinal! K1lsen looked like coward. Raisy is the best of the best at this championship! He is undoubtedly WINNER!

Sie müssen nicht gewinnen, indem Sie in den letzten 3 Minuten davonlaufen Der Kampf ist unsportlich! Killsen ist ein laufender Mann

Hard to watch germans pov, style is not entertaining either, just pure safety grind… hopefully the whole field doesn’t play like this in the next tournament, which may be the last

Meh I would beat you all, original quake 1 and 2 player here from the 90s, who was number one in the world for 2 months. Can't believe this old school game is still going.. Challenge accepted.. Zarok[TQM]

And who dyes their hair grey, to make yourself look older... geeze both of you know actually nothing what you talking about. Ya mumas would have still be thinking about how to f**k let alone putting both of you out. Go back and learn what gaming is.

Well deserved. It makes me happy that K1llsen calls Sorlag him. The best player in the world doesn’t care what gender his characters are haha.
