I had a couple of requests for a cover of the entire song from the Live Album after posting a cover of the first two minutes of the song some time ago, so here it is!

You brought back a lot of memories when I started to learn bass I practiced a lot of Grand Funk. My 2 favorite albums were in Need and Caught in The Act. Some serious high energy Rock!

Yeah my two favorites bass players (as you can probably tell by most of my bass covers) are Mel Schacher and Peter Cetera. Loved their styles and the way they didn't just plunk along - their playing added immensely to the sound and structure of the songs. Awesome players IMO... Thanks again! Cheers! Andy

Great job on one of my most GFR tunes, because how Mel carried the bass! Looks like you might be from Fla! Got da golf cap on 😉💪!

Ah, what an amazing album! It was the very first album I owned as a kid, and the one that introduced me to Mel's bass playing and inspired me to want to learn guitar and bass. So many killer tunes on that album (and all of their other first five or so albums too!). Thanks for watching! Cheers! Andy

You are as close to the Real Deal as we will ever get. The closest we will ever get to see what Mel's hands were doing on this live song. Thank you for all these covers. Is that a 75 Fender Jazz vintage reissue series? If so I have the same exact bass

Thanks again Brad for your comment! My bass is an American Vintage 74 Jazz. I really love it - there's nothing I'd change about it. I've had a few others, including a Geddy Lee, which I thought was the bomb, until I found this one. I thought the really thin neck on the GL was what I liked until I played this one, which has a thicker C shaped neck - it just feels so stable and solid. What color is your bass? And is it a maple or rosewood fretboard? Thanks again, and let me know what you think of any of the other covers you watch - always happy to hear your feedback or questions. Thanks again. Cheers! Andy

My 75 AVRI series looks exactly like yours. Rose wood Block inlays. That's why I asked. I watched all your bass covers and am a fan of yours @@AJs-guitar-bass
@AJs-guitar-bass8 ай бұрын
@@bradhoglan2331 interesting that yours looks identical to mine. It seems like a lot of the 75's I've seen were natural finish with maple fretboards, but obviously there were other combinations. Gotta love the block inlays right!! Man, can't believe you've watch all my bass covers - thanks for that! Happy to hear any other comments or feedback you have on them! Thanks a bunch! Cheers! Andy

have you done a bass cover on, Are you ready from the live album? thanks for the great covers
@AJs-guitar-bass6 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks for your comment! I have that one on my channel. Actually, I have every song from the LIVE Album covered on my channel. When you go to my channel, click on "Videos" and Are You Ready and Into the Sun are at the bottom of the list because they are the first two covers I posted! Let me know what you think. Another one that you may want to check out is the cover of Mean Mistreater - the bass on that song is INTENSE for about 90 seconds! Never really realized it until I tried to play it! Thanks again! Cheers! Andy
