Kenneth Woolard -The critical comments about Grand Funk Railroad, were the thing that made them even better. If I remember correctly, Lester Bangs of Creem and the reviews of Rolling Stone, were highly critical. Even some stories in Circus magazine, sniped at them. It was like they weren't "a real band"! But who cares what the critics said!

The thing that makes this so underrated is the fact that it takes an incredible talent to keep rhythm on drums AND sing. That is incredibly difficult, and the fact that he pulls it off so flawlessly is what REALLY makes this song so badass.

Todd Rundgren produced the We're An American Band album and he said some nice things about the band's professionalism. They had rehearsed everthing before coming to the studio and just got on and played it all great from the very start. Great band.

got a speeding ticket in my tesla listening to this last Sunday - I was doing a buck ten in a seventy five zone.....I asked the officer if I could please give him an explanation - he said "yes" - I said I was listening to this - and then played the studio version for him - He wrote me up for ten over instead......!
