The segment covering the Bullet Catch was the most riveting to this watcher. My big heart goes out posthumously to all the magicians who tragically tried and died! In the case of The Wizard of the North, Anderson, he was not only lucky that the fellow backed down from firing but also BRILLIANT afterward, to have so exploited the moment -- nerves of steel and showmanship !!

It was great to see this video Doug Henning Siegfried and Roy the pendragons I know Siegfried and Roy are gone now so seeing them it's a rare find now on videos the pendragons don't perform anymore and I don't know about Doug Henning they were the greats you'll never find anyone to replace them David Copperfield is also great I hope that he doesn't retire and nothing happens to him 2 showing these wonderful magic Penn and Teller it's great to see that teller can really talk they're all so wonderful be safe everyone

It's worth pointing out that while Penn and teller are experts in magic it's easier to do 5 minutes spots as they often do as opposed to putting on an entire show

Let me school you in two different ways amigo, so listen up. Humor is subjective. If YOU knew thing 1 about humor you'd know that already. Lesson two is, if someone makes a joke and you don't find it funny, its not your job to find it and point it out wherever you might find it. That would make you what we actually funny people like to call: a humorless asshole. If you're not convinced of your new status as humorless asshole consider this: you came to my comment to try and make me feel bad, wheras I left the comment on the video to make someone laugh. In light of what you're doing, my advice for next time? Can it! Class dismissed.

They missed a few things. Robert Houdin claimed to have invented all of his effects when in fact like everyone else he built on the inventions of others. For example the orange tree is based on the Mango production done by Indian street magicians for time immemorial. The rest of that, the appearance of marked objects in oranges is as old as magic. Mind reading is also ancient. An old book I once read reveals a code (part of one) used in the 18th century. Houdin probably got the principal from a Gypsy and updated the code to suit his needs. Houdin's code was in French, Houdini's in English and the best I have seen, the three Campa brothers who each performs separately with his wife, being Mexican use Spanish. The Campa brothers claim to not be Gypsy but each of their wives does private readings, (fortune telling). You also missed why Houdini was so strongly against spiritualists. He was convinced that it was possible to communicate beyond the grave. One book says, contrary to the video that Houdini was under the Detroit River lost under the ice because the rope leading through the hole broke, when his mother died and that Houdini claimed that his mother's voice led him to the hole. True or not Houdini was convinced that it was possible to communicate with the dead and very upset that all he could find were frauds using the techniques he used himself. He had a prize offered to anyone who could prove actual communication with the dead. This inspired The Amazing Randi's ongoing million dollar challenge. Only Houdini wanted to pay and got more and more upset when no one earned it, and Randi is looking for publicity and does not expect to ever have to pay.

Despite the oscillation of Roy's story about the attack (at his most lucid and honest moments, he admitted that the animal attacked him) the damage inflicted by the tiger was career ending, normalcy ending and nearly life ending. The attack ended Siegfried & Roy's careers. Watching the close calls they had over the years - it is surprising that the *Mirage* (where the attack took place) was willing to risk the safety of their audience with unrestrained, fully equipped wild animals on stage. Once again, wild animals were showcased as somehow not being wild, and Roy's relationship with them somehow being magical and transcendent of the natural order of the animal's constitution - being wild. A commonality of people who are killed by animals which have no business interacting with humans as if they were domesticated. "Not me - not my animal. We're different." Famous last words.
