@@lonewolf3138 I don't think he was necessarily pushed too far too soon (could be I'm not sure) but he was so far ahead from the outset and jumping so well I'm tempted to think it more likely Jett was just one of those you couldn't hold back. I did think when he got way out in front so early he was gonna punch out and finish similar to Crisp in 1973.

Watching unwanted horses for which there are no homes starve...as here in the US...now that's cruel. I have noticed ( as a foreigner as I am), that when the Irish teams move to England for important grand prixes they win many times. Yet personally I have a kind of idiosyncrasy to bet on their races; maybe I should elaborate on it.. Anyway congrats to Rachel Blackmore.

@Jack Torrance Irish bred, trained and ridden horses have always featured in the National and Irish Sports horses are the most common in other sports i.e. eventing. This year seems to have made people more aware for some reason and a lot seem surprised it was won by an Irish lass on an Irish born, bred and trained horse. Rachel's accent is so unique too perhaps folk have listened to her speaking this year following the race more than they might have done other years. But yeah the Irish have always done well.

The Irish are a great people and I am not surprised that Rachel is the first woman to win such prestigious race. What i would like personally, would be to learn more about the strongest stables and the strongest jockeys in the races that are held in Ireland, both in hurdle and flat. I bet high-altitude horses in Ireland in hurdles races sometimes and they never come, but in English races they do. I know only Aiden O'Brian there...🙂
