Jaro and his GP team are lucky to have you, GB. I see this as one of the most manifestly underrated firearms brand on the market today. These are just REALLY solid guns. I've never owned one, but working in the firearms biz as long as I have, I have gotten my hands on them several times. They're innovative, accurate, and yes, somewhat difficult to take down and put together for the uninitiated. Being a fan of the Beretta PX series guns for as long as I have, makes it impossible to ignore the virtues of Jaro's design.

To mee the system produces about a half-caliber reduction in recoil and simply shoots flatter. Combine that with the reset and crisp single action and with the 9mm variants I can shoot these very quickly and very accurately. I don't know why they haven't caught on more, takedown and reassembly is different, but so was the Glock-style takedown at one point. We can't have "different" without some things being different.

@@GBGuns I'm opening a one man gun shop in August. I'm going to make it a point to have at least two models on the shelves. Someone will be curious enough to buy them. I'll always have them in the store. Just want to do my part to spread awareness. And I'll go over the takedown with each customer just so they don't have to bring it back to me for tutelage lol

This was an especially good episode not only due to the subject matter but also another case of you and your wife actually having fun. I subscribed a couple years ago and really enjoy your videos. The videos are well produced and contain all of the general info most people are looking for but also show the 2 of you as real people enjoying the testing. Keep them coming

i just got the gp p1. i installed a cz 75 meprolight front night sight on it yesterday. i still haven't mastered the take down & reassembly yet but with more practice, i am sure i will. doublemdefense out of texas has the p40 in stock for $565.. that will probably be my next grand power purchase.

What do you think is the spice level of the S&B 180 load? I have this gun and easily shoot 50 round box no problem when I take it to a range. Shoots better for me than most 9mm, but I bought 500 rounds of S&B 180 FMJs and a few boxes of JHP 180s. Not sure I'm getting the full experience with S&B, but great for range anyway. However, some of them have slapped the slide back pretty hard like you mentioned by on some of your loads.

This pistol intrigues me. I'd love to get my hands on one. My S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol, with a Wolff's Gunsprings solid stainless steel guide rod and uncaptured 24-pound (24#) recoil spring is a real pleasure to shoot, and it's very easy to shoot well. Good things! 👍

I find the same thing with the P45 regarding the mags needing an extra push but its a very nice piece (highly recommend). Seems I need to slap the mags in a bit more on my X-calibur for the auto forwarding. Did you replace the rear sight on the P40L? Been excited for this for a while but would like more sight options for the P45 and a potential P40L. Appreciate the review!

@GBGuns2 жыл бұрын
You are one of the few that will say that. It's entertaining how many people scream about 10mm, but how few actually buy or shoot it. It has an application, but one that is not main stream.

@@GBGuns It's one of those things, there is something out there for everyone. For myself I'm content with 9mm maybe some 22LR, 22TCM or 380 but others enjoy 10, 40, 45 heck even 50 AE. There's no shortage of options for people to enjoy whatever their spicy levels are. I enjoy the variety those so keep up the great job You and Ms. Teya rock!

Graham, would it be wise to install a buffer, if they make one?
@GBGuns2 жыл бұрын
This is the first Grand Power I've experience slide-to-frame contact under recoil with that I can recall. A stiffer spring would do the trick if this was to be a high-round-count gun, but it's 10mm; the caliber everyone says they love and want but few really shoot. For the amount of rounds one of these guns is likely to see I don't think it will be an issue. When's the last time you saw someone burn a case of 10mm at a training course or plinking all weekend?

@@GBGuns I got it from my FFL and unboxed it. I pulled the trigger to see how it felts (it was ok) and when I went to charge it to try it again it had no tension or resistance as if something was unattached. It was brand new and I didn’t feel I should be trying to repair anything. Also, I just took my AR pistol apart for the first time this weekend so I don’t have much confidence about putting yeh Streibog back together

Her , errant shot is directly related to the reset so be careful with trigger control and where you place your fingers! A Grand Power will ( chamber and fire two rounds with one pull of the trigger, note chamber and eject both rounds, so Do Not rest your fingers on the manual safety/ de cocker! ) I repeat Do Not rest your fingers, read thumbs on the safety levelers of any Grand Power you will accidentally induce a complete double feed and fire, ejection of 2 rounds! It’s your fault , not the pistol,s!
@GBGuns Жыл бұрын
No, Grand Power's won't do that. What happened to Teya was a result of the gun bump-firing in her hand under the heavier recoil of a real 10mm load (most modern 10mm ammo is just 40S&W long as far as energy).

My question is why don't anyone make full auto rifles with a pump action style cocking? I mean charging handles come in the way in conjested places, atleast AR15 has the rear charging handle but others have left or right charging handles that comes in contact with anything weather you wanna crawl and shoot or lean on a wall, it tends to snag a lot. But if the charging is done as a pump action gun under the barrel guard then it will be free from snags and very convenient. Please forward this idea to gun manufacturers and bring a change, a great innovation to me atleast. Please dont ignore this. Please.

@@GBGuns Any idea if they intend on bringing this back in? Also, compared to other 10mms, would be safe to say this is the best one you've shot?
@GBGuns Жыл бұрын
I have no idea if they're bringing these back in or not. As far as this gun compared to other 10mm it's certainly the most comfortable to shoot, but if it's "best" depends on your application. The trigger is certainly target-grade. That might be too light and crisp for some applications.

@@GBGuns I have a Glock 40. It's not that bad. I am aware that you can add an aftermarket thumb safety to a Glock. You can also put an aftermarket barrel in a G20, to make the barrel length 5". Personally, I don't really like modifying my firearms, unless it's a 1911 with an adjustable trigger. That said, there are some good aftermarket barrels for Glock 20's. The primary reason is that people want to shoot hardcast bullets, and Glock says not to do it in their polygonal rifled barrels.

@@GBGuns I'm used to shooting 357 magnum rounds out of an 18.5_oz Smith & Wesson 386SC "Mountain Lite" I bought back in 2001. Smith & Wesson discontinued that revolver like 20 years ago. If you can get used to shooting 200 rounds of 357 magnum through an 18.5 oz revolver, in one range trip, 10mm through a semiauto doesn't feel bad at all.
