Grand Rounds- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Adolescents

The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has developed guidelines for learning for the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). These guidelines specify that training should include information that provides the fellow with the ability to discuss and diagnose patients with androgen disorders. This internet activity is designed to provide such training to reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellows as well as other practitioners of reproductive medicine.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
1. Discuss the subtle yet important differences in criteria for diagnosing PCOS in adolescent girls compared to adult women.
2. Gain insight into the various treatment options available to address the common signs and symptoms in an adolescent population.
3. Explain the metabolic burden and become familiarized with the common management approaches to improving health.
4. Individualize management of PCOS-related signs and symptoms in adolescent girls.
