Every four years, this unique event in France continues, as an extension of Corpus Christi, a religious tradition that dates back to the seventeenth century.
The residents, who have decorated the streets of the city for the occasion, all watch excitedly the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, which is followed by church officials, a delegation of the Knights of Malta in full regalia and many hundreds of the Faithful. The procession follows a twisting route through the narrow streets of the town for nearly 3 hours, with Benediction held at 10 beautifully decorated reposoirs (altars for the Blessed Sacrament) along the route.
A different theme is chosen for every Grand Sacre and this time it was the Road to Emmaus
