I tried misaligning the date on my GS, and it is possible to misalign the date and leave it like that. But it just looks bad and broken-like in the video if it's left like that.

That is all for the video my friend. It's to make it easier to focus on the watch and not on my hands and to keep finger prints off while it's on video. I wear my watches everywhere and in every occasion. I do manual work in my watches all the time as well. Believe me they are beat on :D
