this man is some kind of emotional pain wizard.

Somebody is in pain!!! If he's reciting what he wrote, it's him. If someone else wrote it, they are obsessed. Or maybe it's me, for just watching it all the way through.

When I realized this was written about the same girl from "OCD," my mouth dropped. This is beautiful.

You will remind yourself She will remind you You will remind each other That this is for the best That you are physically incapable of loving one another And in those moments you will be lying Your heart screaming I can I can I can But you will stay silent Because of her Because she asked for this Because she filled something in you that’s still full Even though she is gone

I often feel like whatever poem I am hearing is describing myself like some weird coincidental self-anthropomorphizing of others expressions. And I feel that here, but just as much I feel his personal experience and sincerity.

Make the rain sound nothing like her voice Don’t be alone When you are alone you won’t do anything you do with her So you won’t do anything Marble at how she, the patient gardner The bringer of sleep She, who draws the bath and lights the candles She, who made you someone who could make himself into someone She, made you want to live more than anything else and Now she makes you want to leave the world Because you have seen it

He is absolutely amazing. I am wondering; why can't all men express emotions like he can?
@CiaraMathias
@CiaraMathias 10 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with that. And it is just so sad that we live in a culture that presents men's emotions as being "gay". I hate the sexists terms of "You are a guy so you have to be 'manly'" or "You are a girl so you have to be 'delicate'". It's complete bullshit and we need it to stop.

I mean, the obvious answer is that being this eloquent and sublime is a talent. He's a professional poet. Most people, men and women feel these same emotions, but it takes the skill of a proper wordsmith to voice them in this manner.

In her you have seen the color and shape of your perfect life And now, the children, the house The arguments about table XXXXXXX Are all fading Like things left in sun light Like any dream left to long in the light For months, maybe years Every time you see her, you will want to kiss her When you do, you will expect pain to come Like the old dog you could never quiet put down But there will be none

ok while i agree that coming here to say "corny" is silly, I think bringing in OCD to combat any sort of criticism against him as a poet is ableist. true, he has OCD, but no, his whole life doesn't revolve around OCD. nothing in this video references OCD, their comment didn't reference OCD, so it's kind of backwards to say "oh he has OCD leave him alone". it would be one thing if someone was making fun of his ticks or compulsions, but they just said "corny" and then you brought OCD into it.
