I'm from the Philippines, but residing in Italy for 10 yaers and for me Slazenger Wimbledon balls are the best for all courts.Maybe It's because i'm used to it.In fact in my observation, 95% of tennis players in the Philippines used those balls.The price for that in the Philippines is around 7 dollars.For me, What makes it unique is the soft feeling when you hit it with your racket.Wilson US open has a hard feeling when you hit it, and it feels like it travels faster.Dunlop AO is in between of that two.I havent used yet this Wilson RG..But the the previous Babolat RG has also a hard feeling.I thinkThe playability and durability of wimbledon slazenger is shorter than the others but for me, that's my all time favorite.BTW , slazenger tennis balls were made in Bataan, Philippines thats why its not so expensive in the market there..

That is really interesting how different regions have preferences for different equipment. I did like how the Wimbledon ball felt but, I agree feels a little slower, and I like the pop of the US Open ball a little better. Also, very difficult for me to get in the US. Thanks for the comments and hope you like the channel!

Very interesting results as I never liked US open balls. Maybe time to give it a try again esp. now that Wilson Aussie open is gone.

Same here. I def did not think that I would like the US Open ball the best going into this test! But I was surprised at how better it did play and feel.

@@HammerItTennis Thanks 🎾 My experience is the US OPEN balls lose hair too fast also. Here in Scandinavia we use a lot of Tretorn balls, while penn doesnt exist.
@HammerItTennis

I did a review before with the US Open and it lost its felt really fast before, but this can was different. I will use more of the new cans and see if that holds true. I have some different Penn models to try out! Tretorn are harder to come by here in the US.

Compare the bounce now then let them sit for a month and check again?? I did and the dunlop was the best at bounce n playability

It may take it a little bit to break in, but I’ve not really been a fan of the Dunlop balls. I still have official ATP for another video. The US Open are different than they used to be. They felt much improved.
@mteca5093

@@HammerItTennis most people use the same can of balls for months . I play 2 or 3 times a month and Penn and Wilson balls dont bounce aftet a month of sitting. I tried n tested Penn, Wilson, Dunlop balls and dunlop was the only to bounce close to the original regulation after a month and only 5 or 6 hours of play. You have to test as if it were regular people use
@HammerItTennis
@HammerItTennis 4 жыл бұрын
If you are only playing 2 or 3 times a month why are you not using a new can of balls each time? When I play a can only last one hitting session before the balls are toast. After I use a can it goes into the teaching cart! You might look into presssureless balls if you aren't hitting much on them and do not want to get new balls each time. I get that alot of players probably are not putting the wear as I do on a ball, but storage conditions also play a huge roll into a used ball's bounce. If the balls are in a hot climate they will keep the bounce alot longer than if you keep them in a colder climate. If you want to rejuvenate an older can just let them sit out in the hot sun all day and they will bounce alot better.
@mteca5093
@mteca5093 4 жыл бұрын
@@HammerItTennis dunlops bounce last longer . Not everyone is a coach or live on the courts. 99% of tennis players play maybe 2 times a month. I dont want to buy a can after 2 hours cause like most im a recreational player that only hits maybe 50 mph
@HammerItTennis
@HammerItTennis 4 жыл бұрын
oz turk yea I get that, if the Dunlop work for your application than I’d stick with them. Most of the clubs I’ve ran and taught at, the players usually had weekly standing court times, so I’d guess they’d wear balls out sooner. I’ll be doing the Dunlop official ATP match ball review soon, stay on the look out for that one!

I am not surprised that the Wilson US Open won the test against the other grand slam balls. I have used them in the past and clearly have superior durability but I would not want to use them after 2 hours of play. They might be good for a warm the second time out but will play heavy and slow. IMO it is not worth spending the extra money on the premium balls unless you are using them for high level match play. I have had pretty good success with the regular Dunlop ATP Championship. They hold their bounce very well and I can easily get a solid 2 hours of match play or hitting on one can. Yes, Dunlop occasionally has some QC issues but don't all the ball manufacturers suffer also? IMO Dunlop makes the best championship ball. Wilson and Penn Championship lose their bounce after an hour of play. It also comes to your preference of feel. I prefer a ball that is little bit softer as it will be more arm friendly and have better feel on the racquet. Just my 2 cents. Everyone will have their own preference.

I actually have had good results from the Wilson Championship ball. That is my current favorite ball that I use normally for hitting and I fill the majority of my teaching carts with those as well and they seem to last the longest. I was very surprised at how much different the US Open ball feels now vs last year when I did the review comparing to other priced balls. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWqZoHh-it6MjLs I also did a review in which I compared the Wilson Championship to the Dunlop Championship (although in the video I mistakenly think it is the ATP ball...) but you can check that one out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6TTnoaumbJ0eKM

@@HammerItTennis I saw your video comparison of the Dunlop ATP Championship and the Wilson Championship XD balls. I saw that your preferred the Wilson ball. What I did not hear mention of is which ball held its bounce longer. I have never really found the Wilson Championship XD an overly bouncy ball where as the Dunlop retains its bounce longer along with a higher bounce. I have played with the Wilson Championship XD ball and would be my second choice as Penn has the worst durability of the 3. I think a better comparison would be after a 2 hour playing session as to which ball has better overall durability and playability. The Wilson US Open ball has always had good quality but they are too heavy for my taste.

Ken Harris thanks for the feedback! I have over 9 different types of balls still yet to review and I am really excited to try some of the different brands. I am always looking at ways to review that players are wanting to know so that helps! I have had other viewers comment that Dunlop seem to hold their bounce longer. I have yet to really like the Dunlop feel, but I Doha e the ATP match balls yet to try. I saw they recently update those as well so now I need to get a can of the new version. The Wilson Roland Garros ball was actually really good but it seemed to lose its felt pretty quick, but I’d say on a clay court it would be really good.
