How he passed the mission? It's actually kinda simple. GTA 3 has a $On_Mission variable, which is either 0 when you're not a main mission, rampage or side mission and 1 if you're on any of them. He had a rampage that was still going which he abused earlier to have it running simultaneously with the mission. The goal of "Taking Out The Laundry" is to destroy 4 Triad vans driving around Portland. So when he finished the last mission, the $On_Mission variable was set to 0 again, meaning he could take the mission, setting OM to 1. As soon as the Rampage runs out after starting the mission, the variable is set to 0 again, so he's on OM0 and can take missions again. He then starts "Taking Out The Laundry" again, duping it. He then megajumps to kill himself for a specific reason. Since you have 2 instances of the same Mission running, killing yourself results in 2 things. One instance of the mission fails since you died. But since you died, the Mission script cleans up the spawned Triad vans and unloads them. Now, since the mission is duped, the second instance just sees that there's no more Triad vans, assumes you destroyed them all and passes the mission.

He did a replay there because there is a rampage which is not shown because he is on a mission, he then will use that replay to begin that one rampage, this is connected to the vigilante/taxi strat, its purpose is to trick the game into thinking that you are on a mission while you're not and is used to dupe missions. This is hard to explain but I will try: you begin the same mission once while on a mission (on a rampage, "on a mission" is the expression used to indicate that you are doing an activity, like a proper mission, a rampage, vigilante and so on), then the rampage expires and the game thinks you are not on a mission anymore, so you begin that same mission again and dupe it (you instantly bypass it)

The reason why this game is buggy is, when Rockstar was so close in finishing GTA 3, 9/11 happened, this game almost got cancelled due to the tragedy, but they decided to not do it and change the game to have less references to 9/11, So Rockstar spent a lot of time cutting stuff which references 9/11 instead of completely polishing it Imagine how different GTA 3 would be if this tragedy didn't happen

@@MOOOHA rampages are used in gta 3 speedruns to dupe mission, is kinda hard to explain duping, basically you trick the game into thinking you're not doing a mission (by using a rampage and vigilante for example) while you actually are, so you do the same mission two times and the result is that you instantly complete it. Is usually used to skip long missions. Btw you can find some videos explaining it, one is "Gta san andreas true 100% episode 37" if I'm not wrong, by a runner called Joshimuz, he explains it on gta san andreas but it's basically the same thing

He's despawing the traffic ahead of him so he can just fly on through to the next objective. You can do it in certain ways on all of the Ps2 Gta's from what ive seen. It makes watching the speedruns kinda disorienting though especially if you watch a San Andreas speedrun.
