We don't really know whether mythical ?owns are thee same as special zoans, but functionally, they are the same. Luffy would be a special zoan if this is the case. His body is made of rubber, he is a zoan fruit user and he can literally produce objects as well, such as when he made goggles from his own hair.

I think the reason Katakuri was changed to “Special Paramecia” was because unlike logia users. He can imbue his fruit power with Haki. We have yet to see any logia user use armament Haki on their fruit power. But we have seen Katakuri do it.

Totally makes sense because Devil Fruits came into existence first and the people of the One Piece world put them into categories afterwards. So naturally some fruits wont fit into a single category or any category at all. Also i have a theory about the Devil Fruits being created by peoples dreams. What if some fruits werent dreamt up by people in the ancient past but by present day One Piece characters making them the first users. Like Tamago for example, his name literally means egg. So his parents were fond of eggs and he grew up loving eggs too. Then one day he has a dream of becoming an egg and finds this devil fruit. Im sure there are other characters like this whose names match their powers which doesnt make sense unless this theory is applied. Stretching this even further it would explain whether the chicken or the egg came first in One Piece. Since his name means egg its probably the egg that came first.

Kizaru become intangible without thinking about the bullet he receive, while Katakuri is using haki to move his body in the mochi to evade attacks, and Magellan and Mr 3 (that have paramecia that could work in the same way) aren't able to defend themselves that way.

I saw a cool theory that Karasu has a feather logia fruit, and just mimics actual crows. He’s essentially a really skilled puppeteer using feathers to mimic a flock of birds to blend in and disguise what his DF actually is. If the enemy thinks they’re real crows and wastes effort trying to kill them, it works for Karasu because they’re just feathers… waste your time and energy trying to kill a ball of feathers… lol His cloak is also made from his power, feathers he can use and control for offense, defense and scouting just like Hawks from MHA kinda. I like this theory… because it requires more skill than having actual living crows, and fits within the established “rules” for fruits.

Luffy's is a mix all 3 too at least I think, it make the red hawk and Thor axe stomp attacks make sense. That and his fruit is a god, gods have always been able to use, control, and even become the elements from Pantheons all over the world. Also I think it's setting up an epic fight with Blackbeard having 3 fruits vs Luffy having the power all 3 fruits in one. I've been thinking for a zoan for Blackbeard, since he seems to still be stealing them left and right for his crew and himself of course. A good one to steal would be Orochi's since he completely wasted it and than we could see what other powers the fruit may hold. Since from what I've seen mythicals zoan always have some additional power along side those of a normal zoan. So it would be interesting too to be how all 3 of those would work together and it could work pretty well, a dragon like being who can breathe and control darkness and make earthquakes!

Honestly, I think it would make sense to call the fruit from how it first worked before the user figured out its special nature. Katakuri, for example, probably only used the paramecia part of his fruit before discovering or learning the logian traits. And for the crow one, I think it should be a special zoan fruit due to how it seems more likely that the crow part was used before the logian properties.

That is most likely because he's always in light. Compare to Enel & Crocodile. Both lost the ability to 'become' their element when confronted by their element's natural weakness (rubber for Enel, liquid for Crocodile). What's the natural weakness of darkness? Light! (hence why Blackbeard needed that blanket thrown over him & Whitebeard to do his fruit thievery - can't do the full darkness powers when you have the sun beaming down on you!).

I think the reason why Blackbeard can’t become darkness is because darkness is nothingness so it’s not like he can become nothing. Rather he just creates voids to suck things. Either that or it could be possible he actually found a way to put his logia powers into one of the rings on his fingers so he can only create darkness and not become it. Which could explain how he ate a second fruit because he never actually ate a first one.

How do you feel about luffy’s fruit? It was first thought to be a paramecia, but it was later revealed as a mythical zoan yet I can’t recall a zoan fruit being able to manipulate the environment like luffy can. Ex: rubberizing the ground, running on air, rubberizing both Kaido and Lucci, and rubberizing lightning, all fall out of zoan and logia abilities so is it fair to assume Luffy has properties of a zoan and a paramecia?

I personally think the reason mochi mochi no mi doesn't count as logia because most logia were elemental which is substance that aren't artificial e.g. light, fire, ice. but mochi is artificial thing, and i think doku doku no mi (venom) which is artificial as well.

As weird as it is, I think Tamago's fruit is what comes closest to Luffy's fruit. Whenever Tamago "dies", he gets reborn in a stronger form. I know that Luffy can go into Gear 5 without doing the whole dying thing anymore, but that's why he's an awakened devil fruit and Tamago isn't.

I can't help but feel like Oda made him as a logia but then remembered (or came up with) a future plotline that relies on logias being completely natural materials. I think the specialty of logias was more of a driving force for the retcon than the idea of it being a paramecia for the purposes of parallels between luffy's powers

Tbh J thought Marco's devil fruit would fit in all three categories. It is like a logia cause he can seemingly mimic its properties such as intangibility and conjuring blue flames. It is a zoan cause it is a phoenix fruit and it is a paremecia because of its healing factor.

With devil fruits it depends what class is it. The gura gura no mi was the strongest paramecia to which Oda said its similar to the logia class of Admirals. Then there is Teach & Luffy who have two classes paramecia, logia and mythical zoan

Ok Ok but isnt something off with buggy's fruit as well?Not only the way it already works in a weird way which is the paramethia part,it also involves different partss of the body with control over all of them(even THAT part) and just like logia he can "regenerate" by coming together again after taking damage.Also if buggy had more BIQ like luffy or doflamingo the things he could do with that fruit + awakening ,and who knows how that looks.I really think that fruit is a better version of katakuri's fruit.Just give buggy the base stats sand haki of katakuri and he can do so much more.

Wouldn't Brook's 'Revive Revive' Fruit, technically fall outside of the Diagram? Cause remember what makes a Paramesia one of it's type. It changes and modifies 'something'. Be it Rubber, Weight, or String. It changes the properties and creates something that 'exists'. Thus Big Mom's Soul Soul fruit counts. But what exactly, does the Revive Revive fruit do? Originally, it just brought Brook back to life. Presumable it only works once, and never again. So if he dies a second time, he dies forever. It wasn't till later on, that it was retconned into basically just being the a much more limited soul soul fruit, but with 1 revive attached. Where as Big Mom can effect any kinda 'Soul' that exist, Brook can only effect his own Soul. But without that Retcon, his Revive Revive fruit would exist outside of the Diagram. Along with Momo's mother who had the Time Time fruit, that could only jump forward in time. Time is a concept. And she isn't manipulating, changing, or modifying Time itself. She just brings herself or others forward through time, not actually modifying time.

no , special paramecia isnt anything outside of paramecias , its just a paramecia with more than 1 of paramecia type properties its not confusing at all , its not a zoan since it doesnt transform u into a human race or an animal , its not a logia cause it doesnt have anything to do with natural elements no the fruit itself didnt change just the writer has changed it , it doesnt work as logia since it doesnt use an element , how fruits work isnt tied to their type just what they do or work with logias are element based powers like lightning , light , darkness , fire , magma which is tbh just earth but hot , ice which is water but cold , etc , not SUBSTANCE but ELEMENT paramecia is any power that isnt related to an element or animal/human races like ope ope no mi , swim swim fruit , hana hana no mi zoans are the fruits that transform the user into an animal or give abbilities of a different race , ancient zoans give powers similar to ancient creatures mythical zoans give powers related to mythological or fictional creatures or people which can end up giving them a power that would rather be in logia or paramecia category but its cause they are the MYTHOLOGICAL types , in the mythology the creatures or people have great powers that should be in the fruits arsenal cause then marcos fruit would be just .... a bird , luffy would be just kinda strong physically , songoku would just be wiser and kinda stronger , kaido would turn into a fish , mythological zoans have to give additional powers from the mythological creatures or persons arsenal cause thats what makes them special technically plasma is a state of matter , not rlly element or substance , it depends what is the plasma made out of , but nontheless its still a pretty special paramecia karasus fruit is pretty much a normal paramecia , he can become crows , he doesnt rlly generate them he becomes them so 1 trait only , a zoan transforms the user into 1 instance of an animal or half animal fusion while this fruit just makes him multiple and doesnt seem to have the whole will inside a zoan type of thing the gorrila arm fruit could be a special zoan ... if one existed , and its not exactly canon right now , it just an idea , so untill oda confirms annything its not any special or canon fruit the infinite chiken fruit could might just be a normal zoan with slight flavor , just like the elephant zoan extending its trunk , queens ancient zoan becoming a snake and leaving his body behind , if u were to feed a zoan fruit like that somehow to a fetus damn right it would gain the powers so an egg might aswell you probably would say something kinda dumb like yami yami being a paramecia while its entire thing is the element of darkness , void u could say , because the user doesnt gain the power of whatever is nececeary to sustain the element just itself , the ice ice fruit doesnt give u cotroll over negative temperature just ice , aswell as the darkness fruit doesnt give air or matter manipulation just darkness , so whenn he creates darkness he actually creates a tiny void filled with only darkness , shadow , nothing else , pulling everything in itself , thats why the dark dark fruit , a logia has gravity-like powers

Doesn't Luffy have a special Zoan devil fruit? It's confirmed that it's a zoan fruit but he has rubbery body and he interacts with terrain in a way Awakened Paramecia DF users do, Kaido said something like "Your transformations are Zoan type but you use Paramecia powers" So it's either only unique to Luffy since he's JoyBoy or he has a special Zoan right?

I always simplified katakuri logia like quality of his mochi mochi nomi because of his advanced observation haki and future sight. He can move his body and react accordingly to what he senses or sees. Creating the illusion of a logia even though it’s a paramecia. His awakening allowed him to manipulate mochi after it disconnected from his body. The mochi that was generated from other objects via his awakening. We saw a proto type of this in trevol. Doffy mucus devil fruit user. We all thought he was a logia but it turn out he was really skinny and used his observation to move his body which was coated with a lot of mucus.

Could Ruffys fruit not also be a 3-in-1 fruit? Yes, the Hito Hito Model: Nika, is officially considered a Mythical Zoan Fruit. But its unique, because Ruffy is also always ina Paramecia like condition (unlike other Zoans). In addition, it has a rather unique awakening, because unlike other awakened Paramecias it not only converts matter into rubber, but even Energy (Lightning) and other People.
