I feel that bonney distorted future features of the devil fruit could be the awaken part of it. And it was thanks to Kuma mentioning the ambiguity of joyboy, infused with with her imagination. Perhaps awakenings require more imagination to unlock that aspect of a devil fruit.

I feel like the usage and limitations are written well so far. I think the limitation is that Bonney needs a template for how she manipulates the concept of age. For example, when she ages herself up, she becomes the spitting image of her mother, as shown by the reactions of everyone who knew her mother, therefore, Bonney uses her vague memories as an infant as the template. Her old age form is also based on a pre-existing template, Conney. Her distorted future as a Buccaneer is based on Kuma. Her distorted future of Nika is based on the template created from her understanding of Nika, which is why she gains rubber body, but she doesn't get the White aesthetic, because she doesn't have that as part of the template. As you mentioned, we have several examples of people who are still strong in their old age, but all the Elderly Bonney turns people into are mostly harmless, just like all the elderly she was surrounded by as a child. I also think the Future not being set in stone gives her more freedom for manipulation than the past which is set in stone, for de-aging, perhaps the Fruit affects the person based on the set in stone past, this is further emphasized by her ability to literally eject your life experience. I believe her mindset as a child does increase her ability with the fruit like you mentioned and it likely is a fruit that's weaker the older you are. I believe Bonney's upbringing helped strengthen her abilities as her disease forced her to remain indoors and isolated from the World outside, which nurtured her creativity by making her more reliant on herself and the social norm for what's common sense.

I can see a potential drawback being her lifespan gets shorter and she just doesn’t realize it/care in the same way Luffy’s lifespan got shorter with Ivankov’s healing. Or maybe she has to age at a faster rate than others. It's not just Bonney that's gotten a ridiculous power that doesn't seem to fully match her Devil Fruit. King, Queen and Sasaki all displayed absurd powers that they claimed to be natural abilities of their respective dinosaur. This kind of zoan strangeness goes back as far as Kaku's wacky cube form and 'pasta machine' form, and maybe even Chopper. I think this kind of thing indicates that what any specific Devil Fruit can do is determined by the user's imagination. It's possible that if somebody else had the Age-Age Fruit, all they'd be able to do with it is speed up and reverse aging simply because that's all they thought it was able to do, whereas Bonney seems to be able to turn people into any age even if they were supposed to have died long before that age.

In Kaku's case I think that was less the Giraffe powers & more so applying two of the Rokushiki techniques (Kami-E & Tekkai) applied to his Giraffe/Hybrid body. At least the cube was, Pasta Machine could be argued with Kami-E but even he was confused by it so who knows.

Just wanted to put this in a more recent video in hopes you see it as I just finished catching up on your last like 20 vids and I have not seen this theory addressed. Bonney IS Ginny. When I read the panel where Bonney suddenly had the Age-Age fruit and nobody knew how she got it, this theory hit me. Ginny got the Sapphire scale disease and acquired the Age-Age fruit while a slave of the Celestial Dragons (again). We know how the CDs like to give slaves devil fruits to see what happens (Boa Hancock and Sisters). Ginny couldn't find a cure so she used the fruits powers to escape, return home, send that message to the revolutionaries, and then she turned herself into a baby in the hopes that someone finds a cure. This would have wiped her memories and explained why the disease popped back up in Bonney years later; the fruit couldn't just erase the disease. It also explains how Bonney got the fruit, as she had already eaten it long ago, and likely didn't realize she had it until accidentally using its power. This theory makes too much sense to me and adds a whole other layer of SAD to the situation. Kuma unkowingly raised his wife as his own daughter.

I think the limits to the distorted future is that it's based on your own knowledge and perception of your own future. Bonney "knows" Kuma is her dad, so she thinks when she grows up, she'll get gigachad muscles. She knows the one pink haired old lady, so obviously, they'll look similar at a certain age. As for Nika, Kuma never mentioned a devil fruit, just his body and abilities, so she never knew she couldn't become Nika. My interpretation of the distorted future technique is that bonney is time travelling forward in time, in a timeline where she would go through the necessary changes to achieve a certain effect So if she wants to be super strong she would have to choose a future where she worked out a lot. This means that she cant change her past. She cant just go into an alternate reality where she was born as a boy, or where she was born as a buccaneer. I believe she cant change what has already happened to her, only whats to come Which comes back to the bonney uses the fruit well because she is young theory. Because she only has 12 years of past, she essentially has 130 years of possible future One thing also to note is that we have never seen bonney age herself down, and i believe she cant actually do that. Bonney is currently 12 and we have never seen her age herself down despite being able to do that to others One theory is that any changes she makes to herself can be permanent (since she seemingly is able to stay in her young adult form indefinitely), but she can only age herself up. On the other hand, any changes she makes to other people are temporary, but she can age them both ways

It is worth noting that "Age" has multiple definitions depending on context. It can be the time something or someone has existed, or it can be a distinct period of history (the bronze age for example). It would seem the fruit is taking into account Age in all its definitions.

I believe her devil fruit allows her to specifically change her DNA. The reason why she was able to imitate Kuma and Luffy is because the Buccaneer race really exists and Luffy's Devil Fruit is a Zoan, which is also based on a race that belonged to Joyboy. I don't think she would be able to copy Paramecia or Logia. Still, it's really strong, she could take on any race depending on the situation. Theoretically, she could turn herself into a giant, fish-man, mink, or even Lunarian.

I've been thinking the same thing, and I think Nika was a giant, and so when she asked for a nika-ish future and tapped into his bloodline, she was able to partially manifest a giant form. Just the arm.

I could also imagine that this ability is unique even among other users of the "Toshi Toshi no Mi" because she may have wished to be the biological daughter of Kuma and that is the reason why she got the ability to adapt her DNA. Which, of course, doesn't matter to Kuma, he loves her either way.

That being said, I'm not willing to accept that she can just copy devil fruits at will. I think there has to be some restrictions. Maybe only zoans? And it could be unique to Bonney. In fact, it could be an entirely new devil fruit that Bonney's dreams manifested, and it was just misidentified as an existing fruit. Just like Sabo's death was canon until it wasn't, Oda could be telling us a cheeky little lie here.

@@derrickmiles5240 I mean, of course there is a possibility, it's not like all devil fruits are in the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. Only those that have already been found and researched. It may also be that no one has ever had this wish before and Bonney is the first user, which is why the Devil Fruit didn't spawn as a fruit, but Bonney simply received the power and only when she dies a fruit appears. (The restriction is only races or Zoan if i have to guess)

I think Bonnie's devil fruit powers can be explained by what Vegapunk said. Devil fruits were created to manifest the dreams and wills of people to surpass themselves. Maybe all devil fruits are limited by what the users believe they can do with it.

It is interesting that the only ones who have truly pushed there fruit powers in a illogical direction is Luffy, Kuma and Bonny. Yes characters like Doffy and Law have pushed theirs too but I think they still stick in the realms of their fruits general powers.

I think the use of "age" in this devil fruit is like "a span of time." Like "The Third Age" or "The Middle Ages." So Bonney is accessing an "age" in which that certain desired "future" exists.

I think the old "Kuma joining Strawhats" theory is pretty correct, the part where you take parts of the Strawhats' fruit names, make 'em into numbers.. You're left with 2 and 9, which forms Nikyu (Nikyu Nikyu no Mi is Kuma's fruit), and Kuma might join after Egghead because of dem flashbacks. Also, I think Luffy's crewmates might be correlated to months of the year or Jesus's disciples, but no concrete proof for now :P

I think everyone is missing the concept of age. Age can be a person’s age and/or an age of time like Stone Age, Dark ages etc. if awakened she could possibly change the environment to different points in time (ages) which is the same thing. It’s broken to the point she can change to a different age that she has different abilities if it was a different circumstance. Imagine she’s fighting with Luffy and a building is destroyed. She can go to a different age (time) of that very same building trapping or rebuilding it to a time it wasn’t broken. Could also possibly use it on that ancient robot to restore it to full capacity

I think she's awakened. She achieved this because her dream perfectly lined up with the dreams that spawned the fruit. She wanted to live to be older and experience so much with Kuma. The fruit let's you become a version of you that you can picture with utmost clarity and desire. To grow and experience. We didn't see what happened to Bonney after she used her Nika attack. I imagine something like Luffy/Chopper turning chibby or an old man. Drawbacks could be she cannot ever access that path again. Or more tragically, she loses lifespan every time she does. Ironic twist that changing her age will keep her from ever really growing old naturally.
