@JeremyBurden exactly she shouldn't have boiled at all. She drained the flavor from the vegetable. Putting the flavor in the water like a broth. Making putting the veggies in pointless once she boiled the flavor from it. Sautéed with the butter would have locked the flavors into the veggies then she could have added her seasoning and broth. 😊. @@sirenthomas4595 I raised an eyebrow too being from the south as the main variations of dressing I know are cornbread, turkey (w/ gravy), chicken, and ham. Everybody of course has their own recipe, but I feel that there are a few staples to stand by with dressing. 1. Broth should always come from cooking down a chicken with the bone 2. Please sautee them veggies in bacon grease, lard or butter. lol she called it a holy trinity and then baptized em in fake broth 3. Add the liquid a bit at a time. I personally would’ve added the soup cans separately. 4. And I’m annoyed cuz now I want dressing and Thanksgiving is two weeks away. I said it lol. Now, come for me.

LOOK! Everyone in my office (and even my own mama) will tell you I crave dressing year-round, but this year, I can't shutup about it😭 I kid you not, the first thing I said today after "Good Mornting" was "Yall not gone like me for this, but I'm craving dressing so bad that I when I get my groceries tonight, I just might-", and they cut me off cuz they knew I was finna say I was about to buy some trifling dressing mix just so I can have SOMETHING. My big back can't wait😭😭😭

@@AlGoresRythmlmaoooo..I’m low key annoyed with you right now. I read your comment the other day and ALL I can think about is dressing….that’s it. I’m going to my friends house for thanksgiving and she makes hers with a tiny bit of sugar which I don’t love, so I’m making my own batch for home. By the way! Took me OUT when you said trifflin dressing mix lol..Jesus help me!

I LOVE cornbread dressing, and am missing it today! Please, don’t hand me no “stuffing”. I don’t want nothing that’s been stuffed into a dead bird!❤❤❤

My dressing has completely changed now that I'm living in Ireland. They don't have cornmeal so now I use a bread for stuffing. I also started adding sausage and more veggies to give it more texture and color.

So it’s stuffing not dressing.

Just based on looks, I think Mimi's looks better. No shade to Chef Neicy, but if I had to pick one of those to serve at my dinner table, it would definitely be Mimi's!

I like my dressing stuffed with a crunchy top. But I sauté the vegetables, we use turkey meat, and I have never in my life heard of adding cream of anything to my dressing, but to each their own. I wonder if the chef didn’t cook her long enough or if it was that cream soup that made it too mushy. But it looked closer to the consistency that I’m used to

I just love Grandma Mimi and I could watch her on KZbin all day!!!! I'm a huge fan of cornbread stuffing and even though I'm a Yankee white boy (sorry Mimi!!!) I do love to cook and I love making cornbread dressing for the holidays. I have never seen it done the way Chef Niecy does it. The way she mixed everything into a soup just seemed bizarre and I could tell that it turned out too mushy. I make mine more traditionally which means I saute the trifecta in butter ahead of time and then use chicken (or turkey broth) poured over my homemade cornbread along with the veggies and sage sausage. I add a bevy of spices such as poultry seasoning, garlic & onion powders, a bit of chili powder, rotisserie chicken spice, salt, pepper and some dried parsley for added color. I also add some sauted button mushrooms. I too prefer mine to be firmer and a bit crumbly. Thanks for the video Mimi!!!

I can guarantee the true ingredient that made the most difference was the bouillon, and the crime was boiling the big 3. I'm from Georgia, so using chicken bouillon, sautéing your big 3, and using your own cooked chicken or hen to make broth is a must.
