I found this video because my 5 year old keeps coughing and after trying everything on the shelf nothing was working. I said let me go to KZbin and seek out something natural for my baby, I would have never realized that the Name of the natural concoction would be Grandma Barbara’s… that was my sisters name who passed away on April 11, 2022. I am still trying to get used to living my life without my only older sister, all while trying to take care of myself. Let me rephrase that I meant I am healthy and I want to remain the healthiest I can. I’m glad I found this video and your grandma has the same name as my sister. Thank you, Barbara

I was very pleased to see this recipe. We make the same thing back home, but we don't cook it. Just mix the lemon and honey and have it like that. For stubborn coughs in adults, you can also add a clove of crushed garlic which helps.

@drive1786 It works quite well and is extremely tasty. You don't have to heat up the honey, however you can also heat up some tea and add honey. Be sure to breathe in the steam, it opens the airways and makes your cough more effective.

My mother filled a pint jar with half lemon juice and half honey. She stirred it and added a shot of whiskey and stirred again. She would give us one tablespoon of the syrup by mouth and then gave us a teacup of hot tea that she added two tablespoons of syrup to. We would sleep straight through the night.

You can get really nice, durable, plastic lids for those mason jars at Walmart. They're Walmart brand, I'm pretty sure, and they're cheap. They're so much easier to use when you're just storing stuff in the fridge and using/opening often. I have a bunch of them and toss the ring-type lids because I'm not one to can anything.
