A mom and her kittens nesting together have a unique smell that all of them recognize. Once her kittens are separated from her, that nest smell is quickly lost. Her baby will have a whole new slew of scents on him from his new home. You'd think that she'd recognize her son's homecoming, but she'll treat him just like any other strange cat. Since he no longer smells of the nest, she won't recognize him at all. The same thing goes for siblings. While they'll cuddle and sleep together as long as they're kept together, once separated the familiarity is quickly lost. So for Kitty, a long-awaited reunion with family will likely include a lot of hissing and stress. To her, you'll have just brought a stranger home." ----- so if the 'daughter' and 'grandma' cat have been together, She'll know its her 'daughter'

@Aniah Rose How come if you separate a mother and daughter cat for several years and put them back together again, the mother will act with hostility and aggression towards the daughter cat...because after it has raised the daughter, the mother sees it as any other cat, a rival, competition. I have seen with my own eyes a mother and daughter cat reunited after years apart and they have fought and hissed at each other as if there was no biological relationship at all. It really isn't that controversial to point out that cat relationships are nothing like human relationships. It is just fact and I am slightly confused why people are so offended by it. It's as if there is some need for people to incorrectly project their own minds into that of their pets. To me that kind of thinking is ignorant of scientific fact and is slightly deranged.

I lost my cat 5 days ago, it is so so heartwrenching. She just started vomiting last Thursday and didn’t stop until the vet had given her antibiotics and pain killers. We thought she’d get better but during the night she had passed away, and neither I nor the vet have any idea what happened to her. It was a horrible sight when we woke up in the morning, she’d sought to the farthest corner of the house, far away from us. We’re all so immensely devastated💔 she was only six, we thought she’d live at least 10-12 years - hoping for at least 15 since she was an indoor-only cat. She died so unexpectedly and so young, she’s on my mind 24/7 - heck, she was even when she was alive. We loved her to her bones. Oh God, she was so so precious. Timid, but yet so loving. Don’t know how we’re ever gonna heal upon this💔💔 My baby didn’t make it, but may God grant your cats a long and healthy life.

Wow! Timemark 2:09 Bella giving daughter Divine a kiss right on the lips. Sweet (but that is where cats have their scent glands, the less musky ones which more often then not smell like flowers. By sniffing each other there it is a sort of "I am me and you are you" rekindling of their long time bond). Then Bella is going around to get the scent profile for all her grandchildren. She is getting ready to pitch in and help.

@@thejudgmentalcat Well, Linda, you are watching a cat channel and so you know about cats. Yes, cats also sniff butts but I wonder what kind of intelligence they are trying to derive from that. Maybe diet. "Is this other cat eating better than myself? No, smells like fish heads and dead bugs." but cats do the more personal and less unseemly lip smelling. That is where the Personal Identification File exists for cats. I have I think seven cats by now (please don't make me count) and the most recent rescue, a kitten, and the last rescue, about a year and half, well, they are best friends but sleep separately because the young one ALWAYS wants to play. Anyway, when either one wakes up he goes looking for the other. The first thing they do is smell lips to verify that the THING that looked like their best friend is really their best friend.

"Puppy Mills" will keep breeding their own, and while some Puppy Mills will deal in "pure breeds", well, you get what you pay for and incest only weakens a breed. But the Breeders are kept honest by the Dog and Cat shows, and it is expected that every breeder needs to shell out big money for stud services from champions that are far away from their own blood lines, or to buy the female kittens of champions to enrich their own "stables". Kaja Cattery has told us who the Sire is of the litter (a bona fide World Champion Bengal, famous for his distinct high contrast markings and has sweetness of temperament (the Bengals are the only breed where temperament is a judge-able standard, and that is because the Bengal has so recently been developed from cross breeding with the Indian Snow Leopard that there is the real concern that Breeders might want to cheat the system by going back directly to a Snow Leopard, and the easy way to spot that is from temperament: a cat still too close to Snow Leopard will be a nasty azz thing and try to bite the Judges (which, surprisingly, is not a point deduction for any other cat breed). Also, because of the Temperament Requirement for Show Bengals, well, they USED TO BE WILD but after being bred for NICENESS for the last 25 years, now there is no sweeter cats you can find. But, yeah, don't use the word "incest" around reputable breeders. the Shows and the larger Breeding Community keep each other honest.

So sweet, especially when Bella goes to Divine and let's her know she has done an outstanding job by kissing her. It just melted my ❤️!!! She is still reserved about the babies, perhaps since most were nursing. Divine was so cute when she helped at the one kitten at her head, the climbed over her.

When my cat hallow had babies her mom bobette would steal them and bring them to the basement so she could nurse them and for like a week as hallow was going upstairs with a kitten in her mouth she seen her mom go downstairs with another 😂

@@jennyclark6183 well if you want to know, right before we took them to get fixed, they got loose, went missing for awhile and came back pregnant... we kept one from each litter, from hallows litter we kept a male named spitz instead so that didn’t happen again 3 gens in the house was enough lol
