@@fender42421 Firstly, my comment was in AGREEMENT w/her actions. Secondly, My father is career military, he taught me how to shoot since I was young. He not only taught me how to hit a target & gun safety, he taught me how to target specific anatomy to completely incapacitate vs take out a threat. My medical background and knowledge of A&P taught me every major artery in your body which is NOT protected by a bullet proof vest. Thirdly, that being said, when an over 6ft man w/a crowbar kicked my door in during a weekday, most likely thinking I was at work (however my shift is 1900-0700), consistent w/the majority of the population I was home and had already noted his presence on my cameras and accessed my gun. I took a strategic position and once he beat & breached my door in and crossed the threshold I hit his right rotator cuff and right lower extremity. Do you understand why I hit his right upper and lower extremity…. ~90% of individuals are left cerebral hemisphere dominant making them RIGHT SIDE DOMINATE. My alarms had already gone off so when security called I told them to call the police & an ambulance. We are all entitled to protect ourselves, our loved ones, & society. In case you are wondering, he had a loaded gun shoved in the back of his pants (he didn’t have time to access it d/t the crowbar he was holding to beat the door) he did survive. As a medical provider, my priority was not to zero him out. If he pulled the gun I would have taken out one of his major arteries-just facts. Take Care & Stay Safe.

Well, it's very sad, but I hope that the officer knows that people appreciate her work from all over the country. She is one of the nicest and calmest officers I ever seen on KZbin who is extremely transparent, professional, honest and respectful to everyone she encounters. She deserves a medal of bravery for her hard work.

That breathing technique works. I have horrible anxiety brought on by PTSD. I used to be point man during Cell Extractions when I was a Prison Officer. You had to learn to breathe through the Capsaicin Aerosol they used initially to get the inmate to come out on their own. The room is full of the stuff, and you have to fight the inmate into full restraints while breathing it in, slowly as your heart races 100mph.
@StanCoffee123 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, sure works. I used the same technique when I got injured in the line of duty (community service officer), and thus provided information to fellow assisting officers and the suspect was apprehended.

"Nobody got hurt, so there's no crime" mentality. Many people think that because something was harmless it shouldn't be a crime and punishments shouldn't be severe. Other countries in the world have less crime because punishments are more severe, not lax. Everyone wants the United States to have low crime rate statistics but don't want to make the proper changes to ensure that it happens. In fact people seem to want to encourage this type of behavior rather than avoid it because "nobody got hurt".
