Hands down, one of the best stoner movies of all time. A lot of stoner flicks go over the top, but some try to be relatable. This movie isn't just relatable and quotable, but unlike a lot of stoner movies, it has a whole lot of heart. One of my favorite movies from when I was a kid and still one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen.

Automobile Enthusiast Fact: When Alex (Allen Covert) tells Jeff (Nick Swardson) to "shut up" when he spends the night at his house, it was to keep him from ad-libbing even further about his sweet car bed. Matt McMuscles Award Fact: The video game featured in the movie, Demonik (2006), was to be an actual video game that was to be released for the Xbox 360. The project was cancelled when the production company Majesco Entertainment ran into financial troubles. DARE Award Fact: According to Nick Swardson in the pot smoking scene, Peter Dante was given fake weed. Peter then decided to get his own weed. This is one of those movies that my husband and I throw random lines at each other. The funniest part to me is that my husband doesn't drink or smoke at all. I'm surprised folks don't know that old people play video games. My Grandpa and I played Mortal Kombat, and we both were kicking each other's asses. One match I won and then lost. He was keeping me on my toes, while smoking weed, and I'll never forget those days. R.I.P. Old timer (he died in 2013) To me this movie was just reminding what I thought was normal. My dudes, this was in the Top 3 live streams of all-time I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of, and I have been an avid fan of YT streams for many, many years. We were laughing so hard during this that drinks were spilled, clothes got burnt from fatty sparks, and a chair was broken falling over. This movie is one of those hidden gems that for some reason slipped thru the cracks at release but then became a go-to for those-in-the-know when the DVD came out. The quotable lines just never stop, the actors were perfectly cast, and it has genuine heart and good vibes along with the chaos. Also, it is beyond worth it to get the DVD for the Extras menu and commentary from the actors as the film plays, there are some really funny and interesting BTS stories they tell there.

That scene where his grandmother scares him in the bedroom reminded me so much of my mom scaring the heck out of my friends and I. My friends and I would walk around the neighborhood, and we lived a few blocks away from a cemetery, one night we were out for a walk and my mom had evidently followed us before and knew we cut through the cemetery, but that one night my mom and her friends were hiding behind some tombstone waiting to jump out at us. The funniest part of that was one of my friends had a severe fear of the idea of zombies coming back from the dead, the look on my friend's face was priceless. I got a little scare for like a second until I seen it was my mom and her friends, but my friend complete freaked out. :D

My parents moved to a 55+ development when I was 15 years old (my dad was in his 70's). It was lit AF! These old folks are learning drinking games from their grandkids and they're good! Have you ever gotten your ass kicked at beer pong by an 86 year old lady with cataracts? I have! Now that my mom is widowed, she barely cooks, so leftovers are random like what Alex is being served. I make it a point to bring over food a few times a week. However, prior to COVID-19, I discovered that my mom and her friends would look up garden clubs or historical society luncheons and crash them for free food. They brought me along once and it was hilarious. Once they discovered Facebook, they now travel further to get free Caesar salad. They range in age from 92 to 68 and they're all menaces! I cannot wait to move back which is probably why I married an older man.

This is one of the most underrated comedies of all time imo. I do NOT like stoner comedies usually, but this one is just fun and stupid and some of the jokes and one liners are amazing. You can tell everyone making this was having an absolute blast doing it. JP has some of the best lines - not to mention Dante's "I'm way too baked to drive to the devils house" lol just awesome.

I too love how this movie dances the lines between raunchy and romantic comedy. It has moments of silliness wedged in between a somewhat grounded story line, and the cast is dang near perfect for their parts. I would say it's one of those "lightning in a bottle" movies where it could've easily been terrible but it is a cult classic worthy of many rewatches.

You wanna see a good Kevin Nealon bit, look up "Mr Subliminal". He's a master of deadpan delivery. His jokes almost catch you by surprise because he stays so calm and even. Having him play some New Age type dude fits him perfectly.

My friends and I would be so wasted watching this. Which is neat because I can watch it now and most of the movie is still new to me. You notice a lot more details when you're not busy barfing up a meatball sub and a pint of Hot Damn! Our local Subway was built into a Wesco gas station that sold liquor.
