Wooooooooooooooooo....I've been the caretaker for my grandmother for 4 years now.I lived with her and making meals, helping with bathroom stuffs and changing her clothes. We had a great time together and I loved it, she passed away on Aug. 13th 2024 peacefully in her sleep 18 days short of her 103 birthday! That's so crazy that we both lost our grandmas the same day. My condolences Mary.. i know how hard it can be, but now they're up there having a great time.

My condolences to you as well as Mary for both the loses of your grandmothers, I know the feeling very well as my grandma passed away two years ago in 2022 on February 11th. She was only 88 years old & she too passed away in her sleep at the Royal Alec Hospital here in Edmonton canada, she was suffering from respiratory complications possibly acute pneumonia.

Besides her iconic movies, she is well-known for playing mother of a family that plays music as group. Sitcom series is called The Partridge Family that ran from 1970 to 1974. Her stepson, David Jones played his character, Keith Partridge, Partridge's son. Other kids of the series went to other endeavors in their careers. So, Allen Covert is in just about every Adam Sandler movie, all the way back to Happy Gilmore. He isn’t just known for Grandma’s Boy, he’s a standout in most every role he plays in Adam’s movies. Alex played by Alan Covert is also the writer and one of the producers of the film. Alan was also friends with Adam Sandler in college and his roommate. Alan Covert has appeared in pretty much all of Adam Sandler’s films. He was his caddy in Happy Gilmore and the limo driver in The Wedding Singer to give you an idea.

Also the Grandma who hooked up with Charlie Chaplin is the Partridge Family matriarch. It was a show similar to the Brady Bunch, namely a family that forms a musical group and were by most accounts wholesome, so seeing her play this role was wild to a lot of viewers.

I saw this & took a gummie just to enjoy it properly. 😂. It's always hard to rise over your grief. I miss my grandma and I lost her in my freshman year of high school (I'm 43yo). I STILL miss her. She knew how to drink, smoke, and party... but she also worked like a demon and cared for her 9 kids and 3 husbands. She was widowed by a car accident and a war veteran.

When I was younger I liked this movie for the laughs, I still do, but now I like this movie even more because it reminds me of my grandma who passed in 2018. We were actually roommates for a while and would watch Jeopardy every night and even sometimes antiques roadshow!

This was basically an Adam Sandler film without Adam Sandler. Every actor is pretty much in every Adam Sandler movie. If you start watching his movies, you'll always see Dante and Alex. Speaking of which, Dante's lines in this movie are so freaking hilarious. "I'm way too baked to drive to the Devil's house." and when he asks "Wow... where do you get your weed from?", and Mr. Cheezle says "From you, Dante." Those make me laugh every time I see them.

Never ever ever ever did I think I’d ever see Grandmas Boy up on here but I’m here for it. Mary as others here have pointed out here there’s a good chance that if you’ve seen a few of Adam Sandler movies then you’ve seen quite a few of these actors here because they are his longtime friends and he cast them in most of his classic comedies. This is definitely a stoner/gamer cult favorite and I really was surprised to see it here but it really does have quite a few legit laugh moments. As I’ve said before that you’re my favorite laugher in reactions so keep those comedies coming. 😊

However my condolences for your loss Mary as I can relate to losing a grandmother, mine passed away two years ago in 2022 on February 11th at the age of 88. I helped took care of whenever she came to visit/sleepover along with spending time with her plus I would call her to talk to her every now & then to check up on her. She died of respiratory complications possibly from acute pneumonia or a viral lung infection. Pray for your grandma & keep her in your heart always.

Mary Alex is played by Allen Covert, close friend of Adam Sandler when they met in college. Allen does bit parts in all or most of Happy Madison Productions. Alex produces movies with Adam. There is most likely that his character, Otto will return as Sandler's Happy's caddy from original movie in the new sequel as it's being filmed.

Sorry to hear of your great gran, longevity runs in my family so I understand how much harder it is to lose someone after they have been with us for so long. My grandfather was 104 when he passed, there were so many more fond memories with him, up into my 30s...it just feels like that much more of a loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. I have worked in a call center for tech support, I have run tournaments for CCGs, I have been in release tournaments for Magic The Gathering, and I have been at midnight releases for video games and systems. Yes, all those stereotypes did exist as real people at one time. They may have been exaggerated a little here and there for comedic effect but not that much. It would have been less likely to find all of them working together at the same place at the same time but yeah, I've met people like most of these characters.
