Heralds actually have good mechanics. Some of them just play for fun and end up throwing. I remember back in Uni days, a bunch of my friends and I would party queue being high af and just shit around tho all of us were very good mechanically. But shitting around got all of us stuck in herald.

I find Heralds are usually really good at one or two aspects of the game, whether it be CSing, warding, w/e, but have glaring deficits in other parts of their games that cancel out the benefit of that. Played a party match with my Herald friend the other night(I'm only Crusader so I suck too), and honestly they had some solid points, supports stacking camps, warding correctly, carries consistent in CSing, etc. The one thing that really hurt our game was the tendency of the team to go back to base/jungle after a won fight because they were low hp, even if no threats remained on the map. My solution was to spam necro and just build healing items, because if I kept their HP pools topped up they were far braver and actually pushed objectives rather than instinctively falling back because of low hp bars. Basically morale > skill at that level.

This is a textbook example of why people hate playing support in Dota. You play a pretty solid WW support, enemy jakiro runs down mid, your weaver flames you while dying solo to the SS, and then you lose to the 1-33 jakiro

Because dota is such a team orientated game. Its actually difficult to climb ranks. I literally jungled wk to get out of herald because it was the only way I could think of to consistently get farm and have impact no matter what. The strat stopped working at archon, but once i got there it was easy to stay there and have some actual enjoyable dota games 😂😂

Bro I feel this poor WW in a platonical way. Imagine mastering a hero, doing everything you can to carry the game, only to realize that it's not the meta / broken hero everyone spams and loses late game because your hero cannot catch up to said heroes. Lots of herald players, as well as those up until archon are players that played dota again after years of abscence because of the free arcana and battle pass. I used to be at Ancient VII. Yes, ranks used to be 7 phases per tier but it is now only until 5. But because of how much the game changed and the new things I gotta learn, I am currently at Crusader III. Sucks but I have an sf arcana now

To everyone who failed to understand of Jaks perspective of the game, let me help you. At this point 9:38 its not as simple as "being an asshole", you should understand completely that we poured all our faith towards our action from the beginning of the game. Hence despite of what really happened to them, after all that feeds Jaki clearly knows there's no turning back. He may regret his actions, or are miscalculating what his team capable of, but one can only keep his patterns whilst praying the best of their team and putting the highest pray to them for a grasp of victory. All because, unless passive aggressively invited to work together and back at their side, he scared what his team might said if he know changing side and simply trying to avoid to being called a pussy, at all cost.

Atleast these heralds actually buys sentries, had a wr pos 4 once who never once bought a single sentry because he's a "soft support" and because of that had my dagger as a lion at 25min. Luckily the enemy were just as bad and threw a huge lead and we still won.
