On our first trip to New Orleans in 2007, we saw Grandpa Elliot performing on a street corner in the French Quarter. He is amazing and a big part of why we fell in love with New Orleans.

Grandpa Elliot IS New Orleans! Thanks for the video. I first met Grandpa Elliot Small with my childhood English pen pal in 2002. Elliot was paired with the highly talented Stoney B at the time portraying Stoney's blind, harmonica playing "Drampa." We bought their album and have played it often. Later that evening we saw him riding a bike being himself. We called him over and had a fun visit with him. Great guy and a New Orleans icon!

We always wanted to go to New Orleans to see Grandpa Elliot on his street corner, but we got old and my wife's health failed to where we can no longer travel. Grandpa Elloit was a treasure for sue. This video would have been better if the guy on the keyboard could acting play it. People learn how to beat some chords or play a very rifs in the background and then they think they are musicians. They are a far cry from w=one who knows how to read music and can play the melody witht heir right hand and the harmony with their left.

Ssorry to hear that you never got to New Orleans! This video was from our first trip there and it was the first time we had ever heard grandpa Elliot. It was a wonderful experience! And now he's gone… But I think his music lives on for many people. Have you seen some of the older playing for change videos? He was a big part of that band when it started. He sure was a terrific man.

Grandpa Elliott you're an amazing singer you're singing one of my daddy songs on the third son of Elvis Presley and you are real God sent man I do love the Blues nothing but the Blues I've loved it for a long time it's in my soul it's in my blood it makes me want to get up and move man it moves me it makes me feel sad sometimes and happy and angry what that's emotions from the song whoever sings it but Grandpa Elliott you should have a band you do blow a mean mouth organ and you are truly a God sent from God himself you're blessed in so many ways man even when you sing you move me you make my blood just feel right inside I've also been touched by you and God I wish my daddy was still alive to hear you but you should get a hold of my brother's Elvis Presley Jr and lucky rockets and my sister Lisa Marie Presley but I'm born with a different name but I do use my daddy's name I have the right to use it my name is Tim Dawson but I go by Elvis Presley and that's the way it is man I can't help on who I'm born by but the seed inside that made me come here it from my daddy Elvis Presley and man oh man can you sing brother can you ever sing where you with a band before and I'm wondering who it was because obviously you come back from the 50s and 60s where in Louisiana and the bayous it was bacon popular but I have not been down there I can't do anything right now because I'm so sick I have a pituitary gland brain tumor and I also need a hip replacement I was hit by a car hit and run but my daddy came to Toronto Ontario Canada in 1957 for a concert at Maple Leaf Gardens and my mother met him at the tunnel where the hockey players go through because that was where he was going through and a lot of people are going through the gates a large crowd or she could not get out so she just took me hockey players way out and met Elvis at the end of the tunnel and Elvis turned to her and said would you like to go and have something to eat and they had a night that night before he went home and then I was born but try to talk to my brother's I don't hear anything from them but but Elvis had a lot of girls and off a lot of girls no matter where he went sincerely TCB Elvis Presley and that's the way it is man God bless you you're an amazing artist but you should have a proper bed like I said That's it man bye bye Grandpa Elliott it has been a slice talking to you sometimes my computer does not write properly bear with it God bless once again and feel the lord inside of you and God touching and caressing your head and blessing you for every time you sing a note
