I have run into the Doctors that only have the Huggins knowledge they learned in med school. They have NOT kept up with the latest studies and reports. I try to argue with them but get looks that say I am nuts and then they repeat the old message that Testosterone is going to give me prostrate cancer. Very frustrating. It's somewhat hard to find the doctors that actually keep up with the studies. But I try. Most of the time they don't even know about the latest blood tests and the 3T MRI.

Same here. I am fortunate to have medical friends in Japan and Vietnam. Over there Testosterone is considered to be a protective hormone. They also consider North American standards for testosterone way too low, particularly in men over 55. The Japanese have proven that Estrogen and Estradiol are the culprits for Prostate cancer. Like you, I became frustrated with the doctors here. I now get my Testosterone looked after in Vietnam....with the addd benifit of the wonderful beaches and weather in Vietnam. I very much hope you will be well.

Here's my story, me and my 2 bud's are gym rats in our mud 50s..my 2 friends have an unusually high t count 800 ,I myself have a low t under 200..we all have prostate issues, kinda hard to pee in the mornings. We all have high psa's they are over 5 me 4.2 at the time. They went to get biopsies which were negative. Me my biopsy came back positive..low t my ass didn't protect me. So I believe once you get PC test is no good..but it is good preventive

If testosterone is the blame for prostate cancer then why aren't teenagers suffering of prostate cancer? They have super high levels of testosterone while men over 50 years old have the lowest levels of testosterone and the ones suffering of prostate cancer, where is the logic or scientific explanation?? The androgen deprivation doesn't make any sense 🤔🤔

@@АлексейЛесуков-ч3ь I have been through my treatment "SABR" and I am awaiting my results next month, well, another PSA blood test then i wait to see those results, I decided against hormone for many reasons, my brother went through hormone treatment and has had many problems, in fairness it did bring his PSA down from 36 to 11 before his 20 sessions of radiotherapy, and his PSA has literally flat lined after treatment. In fairness Testosterone does not cause prostate cancer but they say if you contract cancer of the prostate the testosterone feeds the cancer? Thing is my partner has had breast cancer and she has no testosterone but they gave her tablets to block her estrogen, that causes a lot of problems also. She is clear after two years🙏 I am not telling anyone not to take hormone's at all, for me it was the option I chose, and can I say everyone being diagnosed with any type of cancer, I hope and pray you's comes through🙏🙏🙏🙏

@dominictucci6030

@marklowe5939 Yes, when you knock out all of a man's testosterone, you are also knocking out a man's estrogen - which is the real hormone that causes PC . You can't selectively knock out estrogen in men without having all their testosterone levels ( because testosterone is the main hormone in men!). It makes sense. As men age their testosterone levels naturally decline whilst their estrogen levels, prolactin levels increase. So it stands to reason that lower testosterone and higher estrogen levels cause prostate cancer in men( along with genetics, DNA damage, lifestyle factors). Young men with naturally higher levels of testosterone and low estrogen levels never get prostate cancer!

So because of a clinical trial I have to suffer? Why can I not decide? I'd rather risk it and live with a QO life then to suffer low T which for me is very very low bout 25 or less.

In my opinion, and please do let me know what you feel. Testosterone will help build muscles , more muscles would mean lower sugar levels in the blood stream hence cancer cells will get less nitrition and thus slow or regress the cancer proliferation. Please advise the same for metastatic urothelial cancer

@@Invictus888 that’s exactly why some docs are doing trt with low dose letrozole or arimidex. I’ve been on trt for over 25yrs. It started aromatizing to estradiol. So I take 2.5 mg of letrozole twice a week.

I have Gleason 6 but 8 of 12 cores had cancer 6 were 5% or less but 1 had 50% and 1 had 25% So I will treat most likely brachytherapy. I am however very hypogonadal and get injections of testosterone bi weekly. I went without when first diagnosed but after 4 moths I was a wreck, crying, depressed, angry, unable to make decisions and very, very timid with anxiety as well. I know it is a risk to be on TRT but I also do not want to live a living hell without it.

@@rolankelly9683 I had radiation for Gleason 8.....5 biopsies and PSA went from 6 to 19.5...yet this idiot urologist stood there and scratched his head as he was unable to "find" any cancer. I blew up at him and got transfered to one of the best hospitals in Canada. They found the cancer right away. I did have Zoladex injections...THAT was the worst thing I could have done...4 years later the side effects are still with me. I do take Testosterone injections every 10 days....happy to report that my PSA is rock solid, and, ever so slowly my libido is improving. Here is my advise: do your own research (as I have done). Just because a guy wears a white coat that does nor mean he is up to date. AND look at research results as well as treatments from other countries. In North America doctors are following the Huggins theory which refers back to a SINGLE case in 1946. I hope this helps....be well.

I am a Prostate Cancer survivor. Here is what they say in Asia: Estrogen and Estradiol are the culprits causing Prostate Cancer. Testosterone is a protective hormone to a man. This has been proven time and again in Japan. I was a victim of the Huggins theory for years, until I met a Japanese endocrinologist on a beach in Vietnam. I am now getting Testosterone treatment without any problems. What infuriates me is that these North American doctors still cling to the Huggins report from 1946. Huggings based his report on ONE single case.
