This guy rocks 😂 love his care, enthusiasm and encouragement. I am a first- time home owner and am a novice at EVERYTHING. I have paid too much on subpar work and now am feeling motivated and empowered to master more tasks around the house. But I often feel overwhelmed. This channel demystifies stone care and I am appreciative. I love the opening!

The contact time of the alcohol with the organism also plays an important role. A 70% solution of alcohol takes more time in evaporation from the surface, increasing the contact time. ... Thus 70% IPA solution in water is more effective than 100% absolute alcohol and have more disinfectant capacity.

Additional tips. 1. Use a "glass stove" cleaner handle for the razor blade to minimize risk of cutting yourself + its easy to keep blade level with even pressure. 2. Mix in a bit of dish soap in the alcohol+water mixture. Not a lot, a teaspoon on a full bottle is suffiicient (use non coloured dish soap if available, especially if granite is of a light colour like white)

@davidronson87124 жыл бұрын
I have the black granite which is the most impermeable granite, I buy large rolls of brown papers 750 feet, and use brown paper before using the counters, the granite is always protected whether you are peeling potatoes, cutting meat of a wood board, making salads, once I am done, I remove the paper and put it in the recycling bin of course after removing anything like potatoes peels , however if small pieces of meat fell on , I consider it contaminated and throw the brown paper in the trash, then I sterilize the counter with Lysol wiped or Lysol spray, this was the advice I got from the factory who cut the granite for me and install it in my new house, quite happy with very thick granite that I bought without a third party, directly from the importer.

Great information and highly appreciated, especially after my paranoid wife gave me a bucket of crap about trying to lightly scrape pizza dough off of the granite surface with a metal dough scraper. It would seem much duller and less intrusive to the granite than a razor blade. Thanks again.

It seems that my new granite countertop will be too finicky and requires too much care. It also seems I will have to care more often than a non-granite countertop. I don't have it yet, but I think I am going to hate granite.
@charlottejose19116 жыл бұрын
But, what is the alternative though? Tiles? You would have to be thorough in drying every crevice for it would bring more problems with hard water and mold if not properly cleaned. You might even have to use a toothbrush in every gap using bleach when it builds up.

@@Versace71 You can buy granite sealers at Lowes or Home Depot but unfortunately not all of them are created equal.
