He was still fully possessed and had little control over his body. IT WAS TURBO-GRANNY !!! She sensed that Momo was about to get violated and immediately intervened. She didn't ask questions, she didn't even know who Momo was and she STILL stopped that from happening. Who would've thought Turbo-Granny had this much depth.

Literally translated sayonara means (or at least meant in the past) "So be it." It can mean a final farewell, but not exclusively so. However, as far as I gathered, it's only used in non-final ways, when speaking formally. It's certainly not something friends would say to each other, especially not when they are going to the same school and will see each other the very next day.

I love Momo... when she starts talking tough like 3:42 it's probably because of what she said last episode. when she's trying to decide what to do, she thinks about what Ken Takakura (the actor) would do. so she's basically talking like a hardened badass from the movies, and I think it works so well for her... but she's also just as much of a giant nerd as Okarun, just in a different way. also, the counting thing is absolutely just Turbo Granny being a petulant bitch... sometimes characters in this series are just lowkey shitty individuals for no reason, it's a great wildcard factor to add to any fight. but I love that Okarun turned things around by following the letter of the contract that was originally laid out: "I'll let you suckle my teats if you let me gobble your dong" or whatever. it's basically a deal... and if the deal goes both ways, then accepting the conditions means that he could forfeit his dick again, and regain the Turbo Granny abilities. she might not have honored the agreement in quite that way, but the outcome was similar. this isn't just to save Momo... Okarun also chose to regain their means to compete. so, as insane as that move was, the logic tracks. also, I haven't brought it up in a while, but the amount of enjoyment derived from Dandadan's level of pure insanity only convinces me more that Golden Kamuy would be a favorite if it ever gets a watch here. it doesn't have a supernatural element to it, but the farther you get into the story, the more it still manages to match this level of weird with just... people. the series is always inventing a new type of guy, and they're all in constant competition to be the strangest one, with no clear winner. anyway THAT SOUNDTRACK. this show is so unserious, that hit me like a brick, I love this show. though I will say, when the show does get serious, it does a great job of tying together its disparate elements. I think one of my favorite details about Turbo Granny is that she makes her own kind of sense, once you know what her deal is. Turbo Granny and the location bound spirit (the crab) are connected, and it seems like the crab with the many faces on its back is actually an amalgamate of the spirits of all these dead girls who were violated and murdered. they never wanted to become evil spirits, but without the means to change their fate, Turbo Granny takes on a sort of guardianship role. and it's not lost on Momo, or her grandma, that this is similar to their own relationship. given all of that, it makes sense that Turbo Granny would steal the dicks of men who came around the tunnel... though really, Turbo Granny's karmic justice is pretty trigger happy, unspecific, and highly destructive. Momo's grandma is right... if a spirit is going to harm the living, regardless of whether or not you can understand its motives, that's a problem. it's better that they solved it. also, I do not blame Okarun one bit for being a little tired of getting his dick snatched by older women. he has probably had enough of that, let him rest! and yes, "sayonara" has a more permanent or final sound to it... but I think the feeling of the scene is just that they've kind of solved the problem that initially brought them together. past this point, they don't really have an "excuse" to talk to each other anymore. so "see you tomorrow" opens the door for them to continue being friends, simply because they want to.

As much as I love the manga, the chase was actually extended quiet nicely in the anime. I'm also impressed at the pacing, they're already going into chapter nine by the 5th ep. I'm a manga reader and Dandadan throw realistic and dark theme with a nice valance. Everyone is pissed about that one scene of Momo being abducted and about to get SA-ed, but when I read that scene where her clothes were torn apart, I actually stared at that page for few minutes in awe. For me it was so symbolic, and it wasn't any erotic fan service, but its a pure symbol of SA, the hands trying to hush Momo up, her screaming, her trying to running while those “hands” tearing her clothes I remember I suddenly realized what it meant. It was so different then other Manga were they use r*pe as fan service but here it was actually portrayed as something horrible. Then back story about those girls that were murdered came, and everything made sense. Granny was trying to save Momo when she sense she was about to get violeted by aliens, and then she tried to check Momo’s underwhere to see if there was sign of SA. Oh God it was so dark and sad.

It's not that Sayounara means "goodbye forever," but it's a formal goodbye that you would def not use with friends (it *can* have a connotation of being a longer goodbye where you don't know when you'll see them but it's more about formality). So the fact that he said Sayounara implied that he thought this was the end of them hanging out/being friends (because he thought she was only hanging with him to help him after she got him cursed) and was going to go back to being a loner, since he's talking to her in a very formal way instead of friendly way. Her informally saying she'll see him tomorrow was her way of letting him know that just because his curse was lifted didn't mean they weren't still friends

In the manga, people who can see the transformation form of Okarun is only those who has psychic power or spiritual ability. Them who are normal can't see it. Also they can't see the ghosts too. That doesn't apply to aliens since aliens are pretty much a creature like human. But the aliens create an empty space where they trapped their "prey" inside it. Once the alien is finished or the alien is being defeated, they empty space will go back to normal and any destructed buildings, streets and all back to normal as it were before.

Sayonara is a very permanent thing. I even heard some Japanese people say they never used that word, and probably won't until saying their final goodbye's on their death bed. It's an extreme example and most will use it more often, but always as a "farewell" but if you'll ever learn Japanese, that's always the term you'll learn at the beginning as a standard, everyday goodbye.

In case someone hasn't explained, in Japanese culture it's rare for someone to say "Sayonara" or "Goodbye" without it having finality, as in "I don't expect to see you again, so this is goodbye", which is why both of them repeat it because it doesn't sound right. Saying "See you tomorrow" is obviously a more informal goodbye that, well, implies that they expect to see and talk to you again.

So, she did count them, jsut not at a pace minutes would normaly take, she counted the principle of minutes. On the one hand, I understand why Okarun would say "goodbye". From one perspective, they're strangers thrown together by happenstance. Before all this, they never interacted together (I don't think they knew eachother at school, because Okarun had zero friends). Once the "problem" was solved, they part ways, so to speak. On the other hand, both Okarun and Momo feel that saying goodbye, and implying never seeing eachother again, feels off. In that short time, they've become friends, they're NOT strangers anymore, and will simply see eachother in school. So "see you later" is more appropriate.

It depends on the country, but at least in the case of Spanish speakers like me, we use "adios or ciao" for everything, the only thing we add phrases like I'll call you later or we'll meet somewhere. At least in my country it is normal to talk and make friends even with strangers on public transport, even exchanging contact numbers, and there is no problem if you stop having contact with someone who is not close.
