The hexagon is supposed to be wavy, it will not lay flat until you fold it into the arm shape.

For anyone that wants to make the body LARGER without making the arms huge : after you get the arm width you want.. on each hexagon before you seam up the arms you can still crochet down the front, around the bottom and up the back as many times as you want. When you have the desired body size(minus 1 row in the joining area), join the back just how she did. Then you can join the arms (leaving your desired neck space), finish the arms and cuffs, and add more length to the bottom if you want. Hope that helps anyone wanting to know!

I'm at this point on mine and I don't really understand how I could crochet the body larger, because if I'm understanding correctly, I'd need to only crochet 3 sides but I'd have to turn at some point and I have no idea how to do that with the granny crochet pattern.

@@lanamello7445 I’m size 3x in tops so for me to make the body larger when she did 3 rows at 29:54, I did 10 rows on each side instead. 10 on one, then 9 on the other with the 1 row for attaching them. I might even add rows to the front side as well as this pattern is definitely not intended for plus size people (not hating, just saying). You can make it longer by adding rows along the bottom as well. Hope that helps!!

After two years of off and on crocheting and never finishing any of my projects, blanket after blanket and hat and stuffies, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even start any project. I get too caught up in my head and give up. After multiple months of seeing your content I got the random urge to try and make this pattern and when I tell you, I got to the last row of my first cuff and starting crying because I became so overwhelmed with euphoria. Not very becoming but I wanted to share with you how much of a difference this made. Not only am I so excited to make the other half of my cardigan, I’m filled with so much satisfaction to see a custom piece of clothing that fits my 3x size body, in the colors and style that I want it to. AND I MADE IT!! All because of you! Thank you for everything you do❤ UPDATE: I finished my cardigan about two weeks ago and my mom loved it so much I’m making one for her!!! I added my own choice granny squares to the back❤

I've been crocheting for 35+ years and have never seen the way you start your new row cluster in the corner like that and I am now making a granny square dishcloth just so I can use that technique. I love it! I usually slipstitch to the next space to start my cluster but I feel like it makes a little extra bulk. Your technique eliminates that bulk. Thank you for sharing this project and your techniques.

(She does not say in the video only that you will need "some yard" and I can't see where she's answered anyone's question about how much yard she used or what size she made hers. I got two compliments on it while at the self-checkout from people who work there. One of them said, "I love your Hexagon cardigan!" And then she says, "PassionKnit Kelsie?"... I said, Yep! I learned this pattern from her! ... ...This was 2/26/2024... in Tigard, OR (a suburb near Portland, OR). Kelsie, I watch your videos all the time while I'm crocheting. I just made this! For anyone who really loves when cuffs and borders match, I did a back-loop-only border all around in the same size hook as the rest of the sweater (7 stitches up to the collar, then decreased down to 4). I really like it, and it made it sooo easy to add horizontal buttonholes - I'll be making the buttons with shrinky dinks. Also, I made some heart shaped granny squares to attach as pockets. Super cute, really easy to follow, and my first cardigan!

Hello to everyone looking for the amount of yarn you‘ll need I used the same yarn, same hook size, same amount of rows. For the full length cardigan she definitely used 3 cakes. You‘ll need a little less than 1 cake for each side (up to the joining of the two pieces). There is a little yarn left which should be enough for a small border. If you don’t want a cropped cardigan, you’ll need a third cake though to add the length. Enjoy everybody, and order enough yarn 😅 I only got 2 cakes and now I‘ll have to wait for my color to come back into stock in order to finish 🙈 on the plus side, I‘ll have enough yarn to add a hood 😊

I'm just going to comment here on the request for the written pattern, but only because I've been hooking a while, and I've written a few patterns from videos but only for myself. Let me tell you, it's very time consuming, and difficult. You have to get every little detail right, or the pattern won't come out right if you're trying to read it 6 mos or a yr later, when you're stuck somewhere without internet service. Ask me how I know. And that's w/me having a pretty good eidetic memory, so even if I don't have a perfect written pattern, I can still remember the parts I've left out, or got wrong. Not the best thing if you're writing it for someone else. Even if she were to offer it for free, ppl would still expect to have a well-written pattern, don't you think? I know I would. In fact, I know from experience that most parm writers will have any of theirs tried out by no less than 3 ppl, but preferably by 6! And they'll critique it honestly because they'll get to keep the pattern, and if it's got mistakes, what good is it? So, a video of a pattern is difficult enough. A pattern is a whole other kettle of fish! ❤

I started working on this over the weekend and I'm loving it! For anyone who thinks they can't do this, trust me when I tell you that you can! Don't get discouraged if you make mistakes...I've been crocheting for decades and when I first got started on this I only did five sides instead of six and didn't realize it until I went to join the shoulder seam! LOL When I made the second sleeve piece I went to join that one and was a row short on one side! Talk about a comedy of errors..I just laughed and frogged back to my mistake and fixed it. So give this a go! You won't be sorry...it's cute and cozy and pretty easy to make. Thank you for this video Kelsie! I'm off to add a hood. You should add a link to that video on this one. :)

I wish I had a written pattern. That way, maybe I could look at it and figure out what I'm doing wrong. I don't consider myself a beginner, but I might have to reevaluate that. Lol. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I had considered giving upon this, but I guess I'll keep trying to figure it out. The problem surely has to be some wrong turn or stitch...because Kelsie is amazing.

I tagged you in a Facebook thing a while back and I don’t know if you saw it but I just want you to know you are hands down my favorite KZbinr!!! I’m 30 and I have crocheted since I was 6 years old. I grew up with kids at school making fun of me and calling me names like “old lady” and a few other things because I loved to crochet. I would do it at recess and when I got to middle school and high school I would crochet during class. My teachers were usually cool with it because I got my assignments done and participated in class (usually more than other students) while crocheting. You are my hero because you’ve helped to make crochet something for everyone and not just a thing for old ladies to do. You’ve made it cool! So thank you for being sooooooo great and having great tutorials!!!!!!

Also I had a thought and I’m going to try it because I’m currently working on one of these cardigans, but when you do your rows that aren’t rounds that start with just one double crochet would it be more stable to do the stacked single crochet?
