People are like what happened to Galen rupp as if he wasn’t a poster on my wall 15 years ago, guys he’s getting older it happens lmao let the man enjoy his legacy

Also, being a good pro means knowing when to give yourself a break. If the body isn't feeling it, better to adjust the session rather than smash yourself to get it done. I've heard stories of Nick Willis regularly dropping out of sessions early when he knew he wasn't up to it. If you'd told him it was do or die Galen definitely would've been able to do this whole session, but it's not meant to be an all-out effort

Galen is still running sub 4:40 mile splits, running with track phenoms that are a decade + younger than him. He is a marathon runner, running the paces as a 5K and 10K runner. This is highly impressive. If you took kipchoge 2 years ago and asked him to do track workouts with Kiplimo he would be getting dropped. The fact he is putting himself outside there working with Mike Smith is an absolute great sign.I expect big things from him if he stays healthy

Nah this isn’t true his workout was 400 repeats he never ran 10x1k @ 2:45 after a race. Get your facts straight, good try to gaslight us though. And in the race you are talking about is when Galen ran the 10K not the marathon. He is a full blown marathon runner, running intervals with 5K and 10K guys

Gslen Rupp has a herniated disk in his back which required major physical therapy to strengthen his core muscles in the affected area. This occurred in 2022. He had to alter his normal running form due to the back issue. He also has a congenital issue which caused a bone growth to devolop on his foot which was starting to fray his Achilles tendon. He had surgery 2 months ago on October 17. He is already back on the track working his way back into shape. That foot issue destroyed his Olympic Marathon trials.
