Yknow what’s even more sad? The fact that Ward, had he just been under the right circumstances, would have been a good guy. We see how this plays out in the framework. The difference between the real Ward and Framework Ward is that he was found and trained by Victoria Hand instead of Garrett. If that had happened, he never would have betrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. and he would have been a good guy still. And it makes me so sad to see how this COULD have happened, but it didn’t simply because Garrett got to him instead.

Think of how different he could have turned out if he never killed the dog, or shot garret, or stopped himself from throwing fitz and simmons in the ocean. Think about how he would have turned out if they trusted him…in season two i always thought ward was becoming good again. And then when phil sold him to his brother, they destroyed his last shred of good. They should have given him a second chance, he was trying to be good, they just never let him.

Sorry that I respond 2 years too late, but... lately I was thinking about the same and I agree. Although I believe Daisy could have given him a chance right after he kidnapped her on the Bus with Mike, back in season 1. Not that I'm rooting for Stockholm syndrome or anything. xD Hear me out. If she told him that she'll be able to forgive him for who he really is and persuade the team to do the same once he betrays Garret right there for her and jumps with her from that plane without hesitation or something... I think he would do it. And then they would have one additional and really capable S.H.I.E.L.D. agent for the rest of the show. And since he would carry all the bad things that happened because of him on his consciousness, he would be the last person to betray them or disobey any orders after that. He would owe them. A big deal. He basically stayed with Garret because he knew once they'll know who he really is, they won't want him on the team anymore. I understand where was Daisy coming from and how emotional it must have been for her, but she could've changed everything if she thought about it a little more strategically. She wouldn't have to BE with the guy. :) You get me. Maybe I'm just over-thinking...
